Mairi Adelheid (High Imperial: Mary Adelaide) was a daelish woman from the Almarian highlands, born into the noble lineage of the House Gromach. At the age of eighteen, she married the Dynastic Prince of Alstion, James Francis, to secure his ancestral claims to the Daelands and to facilitate the construction of his lairdship, a cobblestone hold that was dubbed Alba. Overtime, the Lordship of Alba flourished and paved the way for the Johannian dynasty to become reinvigorated. Her grandson, Charles, later became King of Aaun. She was posthumously knighted into the Immortal Order of Emperor Henry 'the Lion'. A reclusive woman in her widowhood, who never did manage to properly learn the common tongue or acclimate into royal life, the Dowager Princess of Alstion remained until her death tending the farmlands of her distant nephew, Iain.
