Lothar Augustus, regally as Lothar I (Common: Lothar Augustus; High Imperial: Lotharius Augustus; Savoyardic: Lotario Augusto; Auvergnian: Lothaire Auguste) was the second King of Lotharingia of the House of d'Amaury. For the entirety of his brief reign, his mother, Charlotte of Oren, served as queen-regent alongside a council comprised of the most capable Lotharingian peers. He would go on to be assassinated and couped by a friend of his mother’s, Anna Sophia of Pruvia, at the tender age of twelve.

Immediately after word of his untimely death reached his mother, she promptly issued a declaration entitled: “ Confirmation of Royal Lineage, 1607”, which announced the passing of Lothar, and the ascension of his younger brother, Philip Owyn. The murderess of the boy king, Anna Sophia, would go on to reign for only a year, before being betrayed by her comrades. For the entirety of the Lotharingian Civil War, Philip’s brother managed to keep the capital city and the vast majority of the kingdom under his control, while his Pruvian opponent stationed herself in the Barony of Ostwick.

Following Anna’s fall, Lothar’s brother rounded up any surviving members or retainers of the House of Pruvia he could find, and had them gruesomely executed in the square of Metz.
