List of Hyspian Monarchs

The Monarch of Hyspia is the absolute Monarch of the Hyspian polity and it's people. The Monarchs of Hyspia has historically used different titles, with the two most common being 'King' and 'Viceroy'. The first iteration of Hyspia was the Kingdom of Hyspia, which used the title of King. The second and current iteration of Hyspia is the Viceroyalty of Hyspia, which uses the title of Viceroy.

House de Rivera

Unsurprisingly, the first ruling dynasty of the Kingdom of Hyspia was the House of Rivera, which Cesar had also founded. It is currently the main ruling family of Hyspia and while other families have attempted to challenge this, they were unable to break the de Rivera's holding of the title. Since then, no family aside from the de Riveras has been able to claim the kingship.

House de Pelear

The Viceroyalty of Hyspia was founded many years after the dissolution of the first Kingdom. Cesar de Pelear, styling himself as a Viceroy rather than a King, hoped to reunify the Hyspian people under his and his family's rule. This marked the beginning of the second Hyspian dynasty and polity. Upon Ramona I, Princess of Hyspia's ascension to the throne of Hyspia, she changed the title from the Viceroyalty to the Sovereign State, giving herself the title of Sovereign Princess.
