High Imperial (High Imperial: Lingua Imperium Alta), also known as Flexio (High Imperial: Lingua Flexina), is the language of Aeldin and the upper strata of Imperial society (The latter having been greatly influenced by the former's continental ways) including the bureaucracy, nobility and clergy. It is a difficult language to master and is only spoken by a privileged minority, and is very rarely employed in day-to-day use, having been supplanted almost entirely by Common, which is believed to be distantly derived from it.

It is roughly analogous to real-life Latin.
