Fernand Auguste Ashford de Lewes (3rd of Harren's Folley, 1888), the primogenitor and premier scion of Hughes Laurent Ashford de Savoie-Lewes, and his consort Anna Clementina of Aldersberg. In the fullness of time, Fernand would ascend to the position of Baron of Virdain in the year of 1914.

Early Life

Born in the year of 1888 on the the 3rd of Harren's Folly, Fernand Auguste Ashford de Lewes commenced his terrestrial journey as the preeminent progeny among seven siblings born to the illustrious union betwixt Hughes Laurent and Anna Clementina. Gilded with equitable upbringing and instructed in the standard erudition, Fernand's early existence was marked by graciousness. However, as the hourglass of his parents' years neared depletion, he bore witness to their health's wane, lamentable disregard for his younger progeny, and, most tragic of all, the incident of 1896 that saw both progenitors' untimely demise. At the tender age of eleven, Fernand, as the eldermost scion, was forced into the role of Patriarch. In 1907, amidst the chaos, he relocated him and his kin from their modest abode in Ulmsbottom to the regal expanse of Aaun's capital, New Vienne. Thus began the ascendancy of the de Lewes dynasty in these newfound dominions. Their residence was established at Eleanor's Way 1, whenceforth a business was ensconced, and proprietorship of the City Tavern was duly acquired, rechristened as The Savoyard. This singular ascent owed much to the patronage of Queen Eleanor of Aaun, whose maternal benevolence bestowed solace upon the refugees, and whose sagacious guidance propped the Patriarch through vicissitudes untold. In consort with her gracious intercession, the once tumultuous and erratic family orchestrated matrimony with influential Peerage, forging bonds of affinity with the realm's noblest exemplars.

Alliance

The matrimonial alliances artfully woven by Fernand's agency under the sagacious tutelage of Queen Eleanor found footing within the precincts of the then Duchy of Minitz, Balamena, and Valwyck, the Marquisat de Haute-Epine, the Margraviate of Velen, the March of Aldersberg, and the County of Varoche. By virtue of these propitious unions, the de Lewes dynasty assumed an exalted station, not solely within the realm of Aaun but across the broader expanse of the dominion.

The Château de Lewes

Initiated in the year 1858 and designed by the eminent architect Lucia Marie, the opulent Château de Lewes took shape as an edifice of grandeur, boasting in excess of seven commodious chambers, a grandiose banqueting hall, sundry parlors of distinction, and a stately throne chamber. The contiguous acres bore bountiful vineyards whence flowed the renowned de Lewes Merlot, and verdant expanses of grain, all encompassing an intricate labyrinthine maze. This Château, a hallowed abode, stood witness to many an affair, inclusive of soirees that convened the noble families of Aaun, the most splendid of galas, and unbeknownst to the denizens, the ultimate celebration heralding the estate's unveiling. The festivities encompassed an extensive tour of the sprawling premises, an opulent repast of multifarious courses, and diversions to beguile the assembled multitude.

Amour

In the aftermath of the grand inauguration of the Château, it was under the celestial aqueous canopy, upon the veranda overlooking the vineyard, that Fernand proffered his heart to Amelia Paulina. Theirs was a union germinating since Fernand's initial migration to the Kingdom of Aaun, and within the precincts of their nascent château, they yearned for tranquil coexistence, an equilibrium hitherto unrealized.

The Adrian Rebellion

The advent of the Adrian rebellion cast an onerous pall upon this vision, as claimants to the land upon which the resplendent Château de Lewes had arisen asserted its Adrian provenance. In the aftermath of the war's unfortunate denouement, the de Lewes clan found themselves once again compelled to abandon their familial hearth, contemplative of igniting the very abode, before dispersing in disarray. Reduced to Fernand and his cherished Amelia Paulina, the family sought no permanent moorings until the egress to the realm of Aevos was firmly embarked upon.

Whitespire

Within the newly founded city of Whitespire, Fernand and Amelia, together with their newly born scion Henri, found respite upon Horen Road 4. It was therein that Fernand was elected to the august office of Lord Mayor. Upon the culmination of his initial tenure, an assignment awaited him in the service of Edmund II of Aaun, the mantle of Lord Chancellor was donned.
