Edvard was the first born son of Thoromir Ruricsson Armahnk, and the founder of the Edvardsson branch of the Rurikkid Clans. He became King of Norland after his father by the decision of the Kingsmoot, and was succeeded by his younger brother Eirik Thorsson Ruric.
