Ecbert Devereux served as regent of Curonia following the coup of 1715 in which he deposed his elder brother, Jarrack I of Curonia.

Biography

Living his childhood through to early teens in Adeldinic seclusion, the young Ecbert made his return to Curonia not long before his father's abdication from the throne. He served as Archchancellor under his brother Jarrack for a number of years, known to be very involved with the citzenry and daily operation of Curon.

However in 1715, the young King Jarrack heard whispers and rumours of disloyalty surrounding his chancellor, and his highest ranking army official. Jarrack called court in Curon, and made attempts to have Ecbert and the commander killed- labelling them as Staunton loyalists. The public responded in fury, man turning against man until the courtroom became a battlefield, those loyal to Ecbert prevailing.

It was then that Jarrack was forced to abdicate his crown in favour of his infant son, with Ecbert being granted the Regency until the child came of age.

Ecbert led Curon to side with the Orenian Rebellion in the Renatian-Orenian War, a controversial move given Curon's previous conflicts with Adria and Haense.
