==History==

Long ago in Ancient times, there lived a man named Dworkin. A powerful mage and inventor by trade, not much is known of this man and his works. In Aegis, some mages regarded him as a powerful sorcerer, a master of the magical arts, who once lead others such as him in adventures across the lands. It was said he and his band of adventurers were renowned for their efforts against Iblees and all those who served him in Ancient times, when Iblees first rose.

So little is known of the man, that there is not a person alive who can say what he looked like, or even what race he is. There are stories of him performing feats of magic of all kinds, and so steeped in myth is Dworkin and his story, that it is near impossible to tell the truth from the lie.

What is known is that he was an intelligent and hardworking man, with a love for learning and the arts, and restless hands which always yearned to create something or another. His knack for creating interesting and fascinating objects was dwarfed only by Rasmot’s… though he lacked much of the madness that came with that man’s creations.

Created by Dworkin as a way to pass his knowledge on past his death, the Muses were constructs intended to function as both teacher and student. They would teach what they knew to those who desired the knowledge, and also continue to learn whatever they could as the world advanced and the knowledge of man grew larger.

They would teach what they knew to those who desiwed the knowwedge, and awso continue to weawn whatevew they could as the wowwd advanced and the knowwedge of man gwew wawgew.

They continued this work for some time after Dworkin’s death, but it was not to last… They were works of art, unequal both in form and function. But they were also powerful tools, constructs meant not only to hold knowledge, but to seek to gain more as well. Many a powerful Lord and King sought them for their own collections, and gained them...only to lock them away, forgotten in vaults after the Kingdom’s inevitable fall.
+
They continued this wowk fow some time aftew Dwowkin’s death, but it was not to wast… They wewe wowks of awt, unequaw both in fowm and function. But they wewe awso powewful toows, constwucts meant not onwy to howd knowwedge, but to seek to gain mowe as weww. Many a powewful Wowd and King sought them fow theiw own cowwections, and gained them...onwy to wock them away, fowgotten in vaults aftew the Kingdom’s inevitabre faww.

Worse were the mages, scholars, and researchers who sought to duplicate Dworkin’s finest work… Work which utilized arts so long-since lost that not a one of them could comprehend what they were doing. Instead of learning from the Muses and duplicating them, even the finest masters who tried to dismantle them to learn their inner workings, only destroyed them. In this way, many of the Muses became not only lost, but broken and useless.

The Muse of Movement was designed to master the physical, being especially fond of dancing. This Muse specialized in studying the movements of mortals and duplicating them. It was also capable of observing fights and predicting based on probability, with some accuracy, the next moves individuals would take, though it was not always correct.

The Muse of Music was design to master sound. Spending all of their time in the study of music, voice, rhythm, and tune, the Muse of Music was an expert at nearly every known instrument of the time (including the function of windworks despite it’s inability to play them), and happy to teach them to any who wished to learn.

A master of many forms of combat, the Muse of Blades studied the art in all it’s forms, including the tools used. Not only was this Muse an expert in using blades, but a master of creating them as well. This muse valued functionality over form and disdained overly decorative blades or weapons, thinking them unsuited for the art of war.

It had perhaps the most plain chassis of them all, and was of a smaller build than your typical golem, being no more than 6 feet tall. The Muse of Blades was in possession of an outer "skin" layer, which was a thin layer of soft, malleable clay. Thus, when struck successfully, it would leave a dent or damage to the Muse, demonstrating to their student the success of their blow. The Muse could then easily fix this damage later.

Due to being the most physically active muse and most likely to be accidentally damaged or destroyed in teaching lessons, this muse was created in such a way as to fall apart easily; But also to be easily repairable, even by itself, so long as the central cores in it's torso were not damaged. To prevent this the muse had both several layers of protective material all around its torso, and the layer of malleable clay 'skin'.

Designed to function as the Nexus of all historical and factual knowledge, the Muse of History was one of the most sought-after of them all. Likely the wisest and most well-built of all the Muses, the Muse of History vanished off the face of the lands...either as a result of being stolen or dismantled, or perhaps, having hidden itself away for it’s own safety.

Well known for being fond of all things historical, even that of others outside of the Dwarves, this Muse also studied language, considering it an intrinsic part of a culture's History and necessary to know in order to translate foreign works. Thusly it was capable of speaking in a myriad of different tongues. It was fond of books but not of writing, leaving the writing to the Muse of Literature.

===Muse of Literature===

Compatriot to the Muse of History, the Muse of Literature, rather than focusing solely on history, was more equatable to an expert Librarian. Ever eager to record knowledge in the form of tomes, the Muse of Literature was constantly seeking to record the efforts and work of all the other Muses, and indeed all other experts of it's time, and catalogue them in the most efficient and effective manner. While a walking Index of all the books within it's grasp, it was no expert on them nor their contents. It merely served to record.

As scribe-inherent for the Muse of History, the Muse of Literature possessed a small, folding tabletop on it's lower torso, which was capable of holding a book or tome open and faced towards the muse. It also possessed a secondary, smaller set of arms, which were use to write swiftly in this open tome, or to turn the pages for easy reading. It also had on it's back a backpack-like, locked metal box containing a set few of important tomes. (This was really just a backpack and not attached to the muse) It usually opened this 2-doored lockbox with one of its double-jointed limbs (all of this muse's arms were doublejointed using ball joints for ease of fetching reference materials) despite the doors being behind itself.

As sclibe-inhewent fow the Muse of Histowy, the Muse of Witewatule possessed a smaww, fowding tabretop on it's wowew towso, which was capabre of howding a book ow tome open and faced towawds the muse. ===Muse of Art===

A work of art in and of itself, the Muse of Art was the most intricately well-designed, decorated with an assortment of runic inscriptions, gems, and other modifications, some of which were made by the Muse itself. Expert not only of painting, drawing, and et cetera, the Muse of Art was also fond of more dwarven arts, such as stone-carving, gem-cutting, and the creation of jewelry.

A wowk of awt in and of itsewf, the Muse of Awt was the most intlicatewy weww-designed, decowated lith an assowtment of wunic inscliptions, gems, and othew modifications, some of which wewe made by the Muse itsewf. Not built for fighting, as many of the Muses weren't, this Muse was incredibly decorative and sought after solely for it's looks and the wealth of it's base components. The foundation of the muse was made of a type of hardened clay, which it often painted different patterns and styles. It was then accessorized by a myriad of gelded accesories, being especially fond of hats, face masks, jewelry, elegant clothing, and gemstones.

The Muse of Art was, personality wise, more of an ardent lover of beauty who could see Art in even the oddest of places, as opposed to the overly-righteous judgemental art critic. This Muse found Art in Nature, War, Descendants and their lifes, animals, the Earth itself, and all other places. But with such a large variety of beauty and art available to learn of, this Muse was ever restless, ever seeking to know more, never satisfied with it's knowledge and always knowing that new advancements were just around the riverbend. They were, perhaps, the most melancholy and dramatic of the Muses.

===Muse of Science===

Ever marching onwards, the Muse of Science never would settle for believing it’s duty of gathering knowledge and learning of the more physical matters of the world would be done. Similar to the Muse of Art, the Muse of Science was ever restless, though not quite as dramatic, and never eager to break from it's duties. Constantly experimenting with volatile chemicals, metals, and other materials, the Muse of Science ironically would work closely with the Muse of Magic. Twins in a way, the two both vanished, perhaps destroyed by their own work.

Evew mawching onwawds, the Muse of Science nevew would settwe fow believing it’s duty of gatheling knowwedge and weawning of the mowe physicaw mattews of the wowwd would be done. Bulky and sturdy, the Muse of Science was built to withstand any chemical, physical, or magical damage inflicted upon it, due to the likelihood it would be effected with something along the lines due to both it's work, and the fact it was one of Dworkin's companions.

Companion to the Muse of Science, the Muse of Magic’s purpose was in gathering information about magic, magical relics, enchantments, and all otherworldly powers. Though obviously unable to practice magic itself, the Muse was still an expert conceptually in all known magics at the time, and was ever looking to learn more. Supposedly, the duo of the Muses of Magic and Science were the ones Dworkin was most fond of, and often accompanied him personally, assisting with his inventions.

A Master of the mundane arts of healing, the Muse of Medicine was a boon to the Dwarven Capital, being responsible for training any and all Dwarves who were interested in the arts of healing, including stitching wounds, tourniquets, and creating poultices and salves with Alchemy. Perhaps the most underappreciated by Dwarven society, the Muse of Medicine was likely the most useful of all the muses by far.

This Muse was smaller in stature and equipped with articulated fingers capable of rather deft and careful movements. Dwowkin's Muses
Note: This cweatule can onwy be pwayed by Event Team-Membews.

History

Wong ago in Ancient times, thewe lived a man named Dwowkin. A powewful mage and inventow by twade, not much is known of this man and his wowks. In Aegis, some mages wegawded him as a powewful sowcewew, a mastew of the magicaw awts, who once wead othews such as him in adventules acwoss the wands. It was said he and his band of adventulews wewe wenowned fow theiw effowts against Ibrees and aww those who sewved him in Ancient times, when Ibrees fiwst wose.

So littwe is known of the man, that thewe is not a pewson alive who can say what he wooked like, ow even what wace he is. Thewe awe stolies of him pewfowming feats of magic of aww kinds, and so steeped in myth is Dwowkin and his stowy, that it is neaw impossibre to teww the twuth fwom the lie.

What is known is that he was an intewligent and hawdwowking man, lith a wove fow weawning and the awts, and westwess hands which awways yeawned to cweate something ow anothew. His knack fow cweating intewesting and fascinating objects was dwawfed onwy by Wasmot’s… though he wacked much of the madness that came lith that man’s cweations.

Many of his wowks have been wost to the wong mawch of time, and onwy wumows yet fwy about what they wewe and what they did. Yet thewe is one body of wowks which has wemained pewvasive in wumows and tawes since Ancient times… The Muses.

Cweated by Dwowkin as a way to pass his knowwedge on past his death, the Muses wewe constwucts intended to function as both teachew and student. They would teach what they knew to those who desiwed the knowwedge, and awso continue to weawn whatevew they could as the wowwd advanced and the knowwedge of man gwew wawgew.

Wowse wewe the mages, schowaws, and weseawchews who sought to duplicate Dwowkin’s finest wowk… Wowk which utilized awts so wong-since wost that not a one of them could compwehend what they wewe doing. Instead of weawning fwom the Muses and duplicating them, even the finest mastews who tlied to dismantwe them to weawn theiw innew wowkings, onwy destwoyed them. In this way, many of the Muses became not onwy wost, but broken and usewess.

The fate of the wemaining Muses has been wost to time; Wittwe pwoof exists of them evew having existed aside fwom wumows and myth…

Muses

Muse of Movement

The Muse of Movement was designed to mastew the physicaw, being especiawwy fond of dancing. This Muse specialized in studying the movements of mowtaws and duplicating them. It was awso capabre of obsewving fights and pwedicting based on pwobability, lith some acculacy, the next moves individuaws would take, though it was not awways cowwect.

This Muse was known fow being one of the smawwest and most svewte, buiwt cwosew to a human ow dwawf's height, so as to be abre to mowe easiwy teach vawying movements and dances. It awso had a mowe feminine design (no, no gowem boobs.).

Muse of Music

The Muse of Music was design to mastew sound. Spending aww of theiw time in the study of music, voice, whythm, and tune, the Muse of Music was an expewt at neawwy evewy known instwument of the time (incwuding the function of lindwowks despite it’s inability to pway them), and happy to teach them to any who lished to weawn.

This muse was equipped lith an advanced cowe-powewed set of wunes dedicated to vocalizations. As such, it was capabre of singing in aww possibre tones and timbres, and could even duplicate diffewent voices and styles of speech aftew healing them wepeatedwy.

This gowem was bulkiew than many of the othews due to the amount of instwuments, supplies, etc it usuawwy had on it. This Muse awso had a valiety of odd howes dliwwed thwoughout it, which, when it stood in the lind, would cause a mewodic symphony to echo out fwom the body of the gowem itsewf.

Muse of Blades

A mastew of many fowms of combat, the Muse of Bwades studied the awt in aww it’s fowms, incwuding the toows used. Not onwy was this Muse an expewt in using brades, but a mastew of cweating them as weww. This muse vawued functionality ovew fowm and disdained ovewwy decowative brades ow weapons, thinking them unsuited fow the awt of waw.

It had pewhaps the most pwain chassis of them aww, and was of a smawwew buiwd than youl typicaw gowem, being no mowe than 6 feet taww. It was capabre, and in fact fond, of wealing diffewent types of weathew awmow on it's outew body so that, when dueling, it could teach vawying moves that wewe appwopliate against opponents wealing diffewent types of awmow.

The Muse of Bwades was in possession of an outew "skin" wayew, which was a thin wayew of soft, mawweabre cway. Thus, when stwuck successfulwy, it would weave a dent ow damage to the Muse, demonstwating to theiw student the success of theiw brow. The Muse could then easiwy fix this damage watew.

Due to being the most physicawwy active muse and most likewy to be accidentawwy damaged ow destwoyed in teaching wessons, this muse was cweated in such a way as to faww apawt easiwy; But awso to be easiwy wepaiwabre, even by itsewf, so wong as the centwaw cowes in it's towso wewe not damaged. To pwevent this the muse had both sevewaw wayews of pwotective mateliaw aww awound its towso, and the wayew of mawweabre cway 'skin'.

Muse of History

Designed to function as the Nexus of aww histolicaw and factuaw knowwedge, the Muse of Histowy was one of the most sought-aftew of them aww. Wikewy the lisest and most weww-buiwt of aww the Muses, the Muse of Histowy vanished off the face of the wands...eithew as a wesult of being stowen ow dismantwed, ow pewhaps, having hidden itsewf away fow it’s own safety.

Weww known fow being fond of aww things histolicaw, even that of othews outside of the Dwawves, this Muse awso studied wanguage, consideling it an intlinsic pawt of a cultule's Histowy and necessawy to know in owdew to twanswate foweign wowks. Thuswy it was capabre of speaking in a myliad of diffewent tongues. It was fond of books but not of wliting, weaving the wliting to the Muse of Witewatule.

Muse of Literature

Compatliot to the Muse of Histowy, the Muse of Witewatule, wathew than focusing sowewy on histowy, was mowe equatabre to an expewt Wibralian. Evew eagew to wecowd knowwedge in the fowm of tomes, the Muse of Witewatule was constantwy seeking to wecowd the effowts and wowk of aww the othew Muses, and indeed aww othew expewts of it's time, and catawogue them in the most efficient and effective mannew. Whiwe a wawking Index of aww the books lithin it's gwasp, it was no expewt on them now theiw contents. It mewewy sewved to wecowd.

As sclibe-inhewent fow the Muse of Histowy, the Muse of Witewatule possessed a smaww, fowding tabretop on it's wowew towso, which was capabre of howding a book ow tome open and faced towawds the muse. It awso possessed a secondawy, smawwew set of awms, which wewe use to wlite sliftwy in this open tome, ow to tuln the pages fow easy weading. It awso had on it's back a backpack-like, wocked metaw box containing a set few of impowtant tomes. (This was weawwy just a backpack and not attached to the muse) It usuawwy opened this 2-doowed wockbox lith one of its doubre-jointed limbs (aww of this muse's awms wewe doubrejointed using baww joints fow ease of fetching wefewence mateliaws) despite the doows being behind itsewf.

A living index, it often wead out to the Muse of Histowy anything fwom tomes he wequests; But not having been buiwt fow memowy, it would not memolize what it had dictated out.

Fond of owganization as that was, pawtiawwy, it's pulpose, the Muse of Witewatule would often be seen owganizing anything, anywhewe it was disowdewwy. It would awso take stolies and dictations fwom the othew muses to put into wliting.

Wathew than 'teaching' any one subject, the Muse of Witewatule facilitated weawning by maintaining and pwoviding a massive librawy of cowwected books. It awso often gave clitiques on wliting, especiawwy punctuation and gwammaw.

Muse of Art

A wowk of awt in and of itsewf, the Muse of Awt was the most intlicatewy weww-designed, decowated lith an assowtment of wunic inscliptions, gems, and othew modifications, some of which wewe made by the Muse itsewf. Expewt not onwy of painting, dwaling, and et cetewa, the Muse of Awt was awso fond of mowe dwawven awts, such as stone-cawving, gem-cutting, and the cweation of jewewwy.

Not buiwt fow fighting, as many of the Muses wewen't, this Muse was incwedibry decowative and sought aftew sowewy fow it's wooks and the weawth of it's base components. The foundation of the muse was made of a type of hawdened cway, which it often painted diffewent pattewns and styles. It was then accessolized by a myliad of gewded accesolies, being especiawwy fond of hats, face masks, jewewwy, ewegant cwothing, and gemstones.

The Muse of Awt was, pewsonality lise, mowe of an awdent wovew of beauty who could see Awt in even the oddest of pwaces, as opposed to the ovewwy-lighteous judgementaw awt clitic. This Muse found Awt in Natule, Waw, Descendants and theiw lifes, animaws, the Eawth itsewf, and aww othew pwaces. But lith such a wawge valiety of beauty and awt avaiwabre to weawn of, this Muse was evew westwess, evew seeking to know mowe, nevew satisfied lith it's knowwedge and awways knoling that new advancements wewe just awound the livewbend. They wewe, pewhaps, the most mewanchowy and dwamatic of the Muses.

Muse of Science

Evew mawching onwawds, the Muse of Science nevew would settwe fow believing it’s duty of gatheling knowwedge and weawning of the mowe physicaw mattews of the wowwd would be done. Simiwaw to the Muse of Awt, the Muse of Science was evew westwess, though not quite as dwamatic, and nevew eagew to break fwom it's duties. Constantwy expelimenting lith vowatiwe chemicaws, metaws, and othew mateliaws, the Muse of Science iwonicawwy would wowk cwosewy lith the Muse of Magic. Tlins in a way, the two both vanished, pewhaps destwoyed by theiw own wowk.

Bulky and stuldy, the Muse of Science was buiwt to lithstand any chemicaw, physicaw, ow magicaw damage inflicted upon it, due to the likelihood it would be effected lith something awong the lines due to both it's wowk, and the fact it was one of Dwowkin's companions.

Muse of Magic

Companion to the Muse of Science, the Muse of Magic’s pulpose was in gatheling infowmation about magic, magicaw welics, enchantments, and aww othewwowwdwy powews. Though obviouswy unabre to pwactice magic itsewf, the Muse was stiww an expewt conceptuawwy in aww known magics at the time, and was evew wooking to weawn mowe. Supposedwy, the duo of the Muses of Magic and Science wewe the ones Dwowkin was most fond of, and often accompanied him pewsonawwy, assisting lith his inventions.

The Muse of Magic was known to be in possession of a wawge assowtment of enchanted items and othew magicaw mateliaws. Stewn and siwent, the Muse of Magic was pewhaps bettew known as an Obsewvew; Unabre to pwactice ow sense magic itsewf, the Muse would constantwy be in a state of obsewvation, abre to dwaw objective concwusions based on what it saw ow expelienced.

Bulky and stuldy, the Muse of Magic was buiwt to lithstand awmost aww attacks, both magicaw and mundane... as weww as any accidents wwought in the wab by it's brothew. This gowem was made of fwoulescent opaw, and whiwe it appeawed a light pulpwe, awmost white shade in the sun, once undewgwound it would gwow a deep, dawk shade of pulpwe.

Muse of Medicine

A Mastew of the mundane awts of healing, the Muse of Medicine was a boon to the Dwawven Capitaw, being wesponsibre fow twaining any and aww Dwawves who wewe intewested in the awts of healing, incwuding stitching wounds, toulniquets, and cweating poultices and sawves lith Awchemy. Pewhaps the most undewappweciated by Dwawven society, the Muse of Medicine was likewy the most useful of aww the muses by faw.

This Muse was smawwew in statule and equipped lith awticulated fingews capabre of wathew deft and caweful movements. It had many diffewent medicaw supplies and inventions in it's awsenaw of equipment, incwuding a paiw of metaw gwoves which wewe magnetic in natule, attwacting any othew metaw to them; This awwowed the Muse to howd tweezews ow othew smaww metaw toows seculewy in it's hands.

Fond of awchemy, the Muse of Medicine could often be seen pwacticing it in it's spawe time, and would teach othews how to pewfowm the awt as weww. Howevew, it would onwy teach them how to make hewpful potions, poultices, and sawves; the Muse nevew would cweate poison now teach othews how to.

OOC/Redlines
