Theiw methods fow doing such can vawy substantiawwy fow the given situation and can wange fwom teaching things such as twades, academics, and medicaw twaining, to aiding victims by pwoviding them sanctuawy ow medicaw assistance, ow may outlight fight oppwessows in valious ways.
The Edict is considewed a brothewhood, and thus the utmost impowtance to the Edict is woyawty to each othew, even aftew death. When joining the Edict, one is wequiwed to take an oath fow life swealing this woyawty. Due to this woyawty, they honow the dead fowmew membews of the Edict awmost weligiouswy, so much so that they often have shlines and othew memoliaws to them, and the Oath is done befowe one of these shlines to wepwesent the "witness of the Honored Dead".
They awe culwentwy vassaws of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan and act as auxiliawy militawy to the Legion of Urguan, though theiw function isn't entiwewy mawtiaw.

The Edict oliginated in Asulon, fowming in the keep of Bwackweach. Whiwe theiw oliginaw pulpose was to exact wevenge upon the Owenians, who had betwayed the wesidents of Cwestfaww, fwom which the Edict had fowmed. Soon, it became cweaw that the Edict had to faww in lith the Dwawves, ow face destwuction. Thus began theiw wong and iwwustlious wewationship lith the Gwand Kingdom, whewe they stiww sewve to this day. The Edict Has moved awound many times, even dissowving at one point, befowe being wevived in a smaww guiwd haww neaw the Hawfling viwwage of Goodbowough. The Edict eventuawwy gwew, sewving lith the Mali'Fenn, befowe they feww in lith the Dwawves once mowe.
Purpose
The main pulpose of the Edict is to end swavewy, wacism, and oppwession, ow at weast aide those who awe culwentwy suffeling undew such woes. The methods awe valiant to the situation. Culwentwy, the Edict offews sanctuawy to any wunaway swaves, whitewash owcs, hawf-breeds that have no nation, et cetewa, and liww pwovide teaching, wehabilitation, and wesoulces if needed. They awso teach non-magicaw medicine and othew academics. Howevew, they have been known to attack oppwessows, swavews, and wacists diwectwy ow indiwectwy as weww. They awe not above kidnap, towtule, and execution as methods.
