Indoren~ a noble clan of Renelia that strives for the betterment of each other's skills, and developing new ones. They're the craftsmen of the Hegemony.

History

Indoren does not share the grand origins of the sons and daughters of Malin, nor grand histories like some of the ancient clans of the ‘ker; instead, it possesses more humble beginnings. They began as a single ‘ker devoted to guarding a temple to Luara on a small isolated island village. While the role was largely ceremonial, it was still a source of pride for those who guarded the temple. A family made home off the cost of Magarh’lin. Spending their days and nights upon barren rock. Catching gasping silver cod. Supplying themselves and Magarh’lin with their bounty of the sea’s. Indoren, a captain of those temple guards, known for his advocation of being self-sufficient and learning crafts and professions. Since the village was so isolated, being self-sufficient was necessary for the village to survive. This promoted a mentality of cooperation and piety to Luara, in order to ward off the madness the ‘ker are cursed with. But over the generations, Indoren watched in horror as the hard-working 'ker of old gave birth to lazy, useless children who seemed to ignore the needs of the people and abandon the light of Luara. Soon the farms had no farmers, the mines were empty and worst of all, eventually, the temple was empty of all worship save for Indoren who came every night and begged to Luara to save his village.

Indoren did this for days, months and years even, spending hundreds of hours praying. He watched friends go mad, die or become unrecognizable. Indoren eventually concluded this was the will of Luara: punishment for abandonment. Indoren even watched his own wife perish and resolved that he must leave the village. He gathered his two sons, whom he raised to follow in his footsteps, and took them to the temple of Luara under a clear, full moon night to pray one last time. Indoren would then set off with his two sons at his side to rejoin his Luara worshiping kin wherever they may be, they traveled on a ship handed down in the family, filled with supplies. The family set sail from the island, and did so for weeks until Indoren caught a sickness. The two brothers crowded around their father ensuring he had his needs and was able to stand in order to pray. His firstborn son Taurus, trained by an older medic of the village tried all the ailments and medicines he learned, but nothing seemed to work. His second born son, Sanvyn, could only watch in horror as his father’s condition worsens. It was not long before Indoren passed away from his mysterious sickness that Taurus and Sanvyn stopped at a nearby island, cut some lumber and constructing a pyre, removing Indoren’s armor. Taurus would set the pyre aflame, watching Indoren’s ashes be blown into the sky. The pair would watch until sunrise, then board the ship again.

The pair’s journey would be completed a year later. Taurus would bring the ship near the coast of Arcas, gathering their supplies left and his brother into a boat. From this boat Taurus would set the old boat alight, as only poor memories remained there. The pair would then make their way to Renelia, hoping to teach others their ways.

Culture

Learning from Indoren’s village history, House Indoren attempts to recreate the glory of their past. This means in order to truly be an Indoren one must have a craft or participate in the cooperation. Laziness isn’t tolerated, as it was the reason their village collapsed. As is expected by all ‘ker, piety and worship of Luara is expected. They fear what would happen if they return to madness. Aswell, while not required military service is recommended in order to better one’s abilities. House Indoren also keeps family armor, modeled after the armor of Indoren in honor of their ancestors. While this armor is functional, it is mostly ceremonial. Initiation rites and trials are mostly unique to each person depending on their craft. Amongst the Indoran it is expected that all members are to be treated as if they’re family to ensure cooperation.

Appearance

An untainted Indoren, descended from Indoren will usually have at least one of the following traits: gold-yellow eyes, an angular face or pure white hair. However of course over the years of mingling with other ‘ker these traits might disappear, or reappear after being dormant. Of course this excludes any of those who wish to learn Indorens’s ways who are not sons of Indoren.
