Chi magic is a magic in which the user is trained to use the remains of magical byproduct, known as chi, in their ability to conjure it and do an array of abilities with it. Chi is simply the reside of mana, and that makes it a separate energy from mana. Chi is found in abundance at places known as Chi pools, this is where mana was or is heavily concentrated. Things such as ruined civilizations, or arcane-made cities, dense jungles, or thick fields are all places you can find these Chi Pools at. Being only the residue it cannot be used as a tangible material or force unless brought is copious amounts. Chi monks themselves are beings who have dedicated their life to finding this magical reside, and bringing it through their body, to use it in great feats of agility, strength, healing, or resistance.
