Difference between revisions of "Blah"
(A multitude of grammar corrections and clarifaction; for instance, changed all s' to z's as that is how Orcs pronounce s' anyways. Doing this will help keep fluidity and not have the two ideas clash against each-other.) |
(Removed unnecessary white-spaces. Removed "Uruk" = "Orc" as that is not true; Uruk is a sub-race and Orc is the general race. Added "Zhomo". Added Blah Fluency Tips.) |

The Blah is the language of the Orcs. It is extremely difficult and usually impossible for Orcs to speak the common tongue spoken by most other races, due to their tusks. This language barrier can be a source of conflict between the Orcs and other races.
Origins
Before the unification of the 4 main clans, Dom, Gorkil, Lur, and Rax, each clan had its own dialect with different variations of speech. Lurs said Ork not Orc, Doms spoke more refined while Raxs spoke in a more harsh manner. With the unification of the 4 great clans after the clan wars the dialects of each clan began to mix. Words from the Lur clan like San, Blarg and Ug became standard among the Orcs; but the official Blah only appeared when the Orcs Urara, Gragarn, and Blawharag appeared. They were from a splinter clan of Gorkil which spoke a completely separate language than the rest of the Orcs. Thus the Orcs created their own language. In summary, the Blah is not the only Orc language, but instead it is the unification of many different dialects and all Orcs can communicate with each other because of it.

Blah Fluency Tips
Speaking Blah can seem challenging at face-value but it really isn't, however to help ease the curious minds of new players I will share a few tips on how to become fluent in as little as one to two days. Even then, I wouldn't worry too much about it at all, each Orc has their own unique twist on Blah and how they spell words, making this language truly unique.
1. Replace all of the letter "S" with "Z". This is a common way to improve your Blah and is quite easy. Example: "So" becomes "Zo".
2. Spell words phonetically. For those who are confused as to what that means; spell words how they sound. Example: "Do" becomes "Du" or "Dew".
3. Akin to number one of this list, replace other similar sounding letters with the incorrect one. Example: "Like" becomes "Lyke".
