Beard Weed
|
Beard Weed is a dark green moss with small, ragged leaf-like branches. It grows on trees in dark areas, and is used to stimulate hair growth.
Description
Beard Weed hangs down from trees in an untamed fashion and excretes an oil that coats its surface. When exposed to too much sunlight, it darkens and shrivels. The oil produced by healthy Beard Weed stimulates hair follicles, promoting hair growth; however, the oil produced by shriveled Beard Weed results in nausea, diarrhea, and internal bleeding in the digestive system.
Habitat and distribution
Beard Weed grows on low branches and on the trunks of trees in heavily shaded areas, typically in thick forests. Beard Weed can not be farmed.
Harvesting
Because Beard Weed's oil is absorbed by the skin, harvesters are recommended to wear gloves. After harvesting, healthy and shriveled Beard Weed must also be separated.
Uses
Healthy Beard Weed is pressed to extract its oil, which can promote faster hair growth or grow new patches of hair.
