The Kingdom of Balian was founded by John Casimir Novellen, and his alles following the conclusion of the Brother’s Waar in 72 S.A. Built upon the notion that they would escape persecution for their opposing beliefs. The Kingdom seeks to establish its own heritage while being mindful of its history.

Notable Locations Capital City of Portoregne The city of Portoregne, otherwise known as the ‘Port of Kings’, is the capital city and central hub for the Kingdom of Balian. Founded by His Royal Majesty, Adrian I, this coastal haven was built following the descendant’s departure from Almaris.

Dante DeNurem - Constable of the Crown. Responsible for the maintenance and command of the national army. Currently a Knight and Admiral of the Armada. Vacant - Secretary of the Interior. Responsible for the Ecumene, or land survey of Balian, and ensures that the land as a whole is held to royal architectural standards. Also handles matters pertaining to Immigration John Augustus - Legate of the Crown. responsible for the world view of Balian as well as the pacts and treaties that the nation holds Belyn - Censor of the Crown. Tasked with the matters of government documentation Robert - The Magister is the head of the Magisterium, the Balianese Judicial system Ephrem - Procurator of the Crown. The chief financial minister, entrusted with all of Balian’s financial matters, procured more money for the Kingdom and looking over any spending of the nation.

The culture of Balian is diverse, having been founded by refugees in the aftermath of the Brothers' War. It is primarily composed of individuals of Heartlander descent, with several lords of Highlander descent comprising the nobility. As they strive to evolve beyond their origins as displaced people, they aim to embrace a unified Balianese identity. The architecture and ideas shaping this culture draw inspiration mainly from Renaissance Italy, with a significant influence derived from the Byzantine period in Greece. | |

The Kingdom of Balian is defended by the Royal Balianese Navy, commissioned by King Adrian to reform the Company of Balian into a more professional military force. They sought to create one that adapted to their surroundings. With the first appointment being Admiral Dante DeNurem to the position of Admiral. Royal Armada
Knighthood The Royal Orders of Balianese Chivalry Taking heavy inspiration from the history and legends surrounding their Patron Saint Lothar, the Knights of Balian are charged by their Sovereign to be exemplars of virtue and chivalry. The Royal Order of St. Michael: A martial order, these knights have fought and bled in the service of the Kingdom of Balian, earning them great renown for their martial prowess while also holding true to the words of chivalry. The Royal Order of the Silver Comet King Adrians union with the the Princess of Rhen, Andromeda Esther brought many gifts, foremost among them was the honorable Order of the Silver Comet, maintaining to the tradition that the order is to represent the more civic contributions to the Kingdom of Balian, statesmens, Governors and workers contribute to the Culture of Balian. The Most Illustrious Torreveliars of St. Lothar The highest Knightly order in the Kingdom of Balian, said to have been found by St. Lothar himself. They hold no titles and are wholly dedicated to further the Culture of Balian. They stand as the most chivalrous. Examples for all Knights of Balian to follow. First among them is the King. Those within the Order are known as Cross Companions
