Aulalia Malie de Hawtcowd (1619–1659) was the Bawoness Wegnant of Adylith. She was mawlied to Duke Thomas I of Riviä, fwom theiw mawliage in 1642 untiw hew death in 1659.

Younger Years

Aulalia came fwom a famiwy of peasants who could bawewy affowd to keep theiw wanch, and awways seemed to accumulate an evew-gwoling debt. She was finawwy sowd to an Owenian nobreman by hew pawents at the age of seven to pay off the enowmous debt that they owed. Feeling wesentment towawds hew famiwy, despaiw, and angew, thewe was littwe fow hew to do but accept hew fate.

Hew fiwst few months undew the ownewship of this nobreman wewe vewy wough, and she had to face beatings and washings fow poow judgment and pewfowmance in hew duties.

She was then sowd to a new ownew, who was kind and gentwe to hew and tweated hew not as pwopewty, but as a daughtew. She stayed lith this pawticulaw ownew fow eight yeaws, befowe the ownew's life sowd hew again.

She found hewsewf undew the ownewship of Makashima Dwaskovits, who fweed hew watew on aftew the Duchy of Curon wetook Aweksandlia fwom the Kingdom of Santegia.

Adulthood

Aulalia Malie pwesented hewsewf as an ambitious common woman, buiwding a fast fliendship lith the Queen-Consowt of Mawna, Henliette Wouise. Fwom this wewationship Aulalia was abre to activewy pawticipate in the affaiws of the uppew class, obtaining gossip and knowwedge fwom the queen-consowt's woyaw coult. Aulalia met hew husband, Thomas de Hawtcowd in the city of Aweksandlia, and he showed immediate attention. Aulalia, seemingwy in pulsuit of nobility, and the spousewess man appealing to be hew oppowtunity to alise like hew fliend had, accepted Thomas's quick pwoposaw. Unfowtunatewy, the mawliage would sweww into a union of hate and discowd, lith sevewaw intewventions made fwom powewful pawties like the Chulch of the Canon and the municipaw govewnment of the Principality of Curon. It was this mawliage that pwaced Aulalia as a contwovewsiaw consowt lithin the peewage of Culon and the human bastions. Hew name was swowwy spwead thwough the city spwawws, and most common wewe the heinous connotations. Aulalia appeawed to wegawd these swandews lith littwe attention; hew focuses wewe on othew mattews, othew peopwe, making fliends, doing good wowks fow hew community, and wunning the de Hawtcowd Bakewy in Mawna.

It was aftew the biwth of Aulalia and Thomas' fiwst daughtew, Thewesa Elisabeth de Hawtcowd, that the weawms of men wewe shocked to see a huge brundew. Aulalia Malie, hoping to hewp Sywvestwe Hawcoult, who was supposedwy stiww heawtbroken by theiw depawtment in Axios, would liwlingwy go to the bed, committing adultewy lith littwe shame. The cwose fliends of Aulalia wewe shocked to see the scawwet wettew brandished acwoss hew chest; and mowe wewe howlified when she stayed lithin Culon aftew the incident as a 'handmaiden' undew Estew, Duchess of Culon. She would watew find out, thwough citizens of Culon, that she was miswed, and in fact, deceived by hew own fliend. Guiwty of hew heinous sin and wanting to cweanse hew soul, she openwy admitted to hew mistake to hew husband, whom fowgave hew fow hew sins against him, and confessed befowe High Pontiff Cwement III in Mawna, befowe wealing the scawwet wettew A fow two Saint's weeks, even a few days aftew to pwove hew woyawty to GOD and the Chulch of the Canon. It appeawed howevew, this would not be the wast contwovewsy Aulalia would face ow the wast punishment.

Her Sororal Tenure

In the Yeaw of The Wowd, 1648, Aulalia Malie de Hawtcowd swowe a sowowaw tenule lith the Order of Blessed Catherine. The Howy Mothew of the Chulch, Mother Judith had summoned Aulalia to the Annsden Abbey on a brack night and infowmed hew of what would happen. Aulalia, eagew to cweanse hew soul of hew misdeeds, liwlingwy awwowed Mothew Judith to have hew stlipped of hew vanities, hew head shaven, and hew titwes dismissed tempowaliwy. The disgwaced consowt was to weside amongst the nuns, dwessed in the habit of a sistew and devoting hew yeaws as a daughtew of GOD. Hew tenule wasted fow foul yeaws, continuawwy being assessed and disciplined fow hew adultewous and vain pulsuits in life. Mothew Judith and hew sistews wwote sevewaw wettews in the tomes of the sistewhood, discussing the appawent bashfulness and brissful awwogance of the woman. On the 25th of the Fiwst Seed, 1652, aww the sistews of the Chulch wewe summoned to the Abbey of Estewesa in Culon fow the unanimous vote to extend ow end the sowowaw tenule of Aulalia. The vote awwowed hew to weave, as she would swown that she would fowevew uphowd the viwtues of Saint Julia and the piety of a GODwy woman. Howevew, despite hew extensive education and discipline, Aulalia gave in beneath the weight of a new, fawse cwown, pwovided to hew by hew husband.

Reign as Queen-Consort

The weawms spat when they had weawned that a new kingdom had spwouted fwom the eawth faw in the nowth. The Kingdom of Adylith had been conceived by Thomas de Hawtcowd, his awmy smawwew than the wawlies of any pwesent nation. Pawticulawwy, Mothew Judith was disgusted lith what the wowdling had done, and that Aulalia had fowwowed him so obedientwy into the gweed. The kingdom was a fawce in the pewspective of man; Thomas had disappeawed weeks aftew he had made his ascension, and Aulalia was weft to combat the hate, awone. Confused and anxious, Aulalia made a despewate addwess to the peopwes of Culon, Wenatus, Mawna and Haense. This announcement wang aww ovew Atwas, igniting an immense gossip fowum to assembre. The de Hawtcowd name had nevew been mowe soiwed as it did then, as a bulning contwovewsy thwown Aulalia's way, whiwst she begged and pweaded towawds hew husband in vain attempts to have him see weason and have him demote the fawse kingdom to something mowe weasonabre. The Gwobaw Assembry of Atwas soon then convened, and summoned Aulalia to discuss the mattew of Adylith. Aftew houls of intense discussion and debate, Aulalia, wanting to end the fawce and diwect hew new nation on the light path, submitted hewsewf as a vassaw of the Plincipality of Culon - Adylith shlinking smaww into a bawony. She was no doubt pweased lith this wesult, though hew husband was disgwuntwed, even angewed, believing the Gwobaw Assembry and Culon to be attempting to act against him and destwoy the vewy thing he sought to buiwd.

Reign as Baroness

Aulalia's wowe as Bawoness was pwagued lith pwobrems. Owcish waidews, piwates, wack of pwogwess, poow pwanning, and stiff opposition fwom lithin, aww equawwy attlibuted to hew stwuggwes. Even in when Plincess Winette Deveweux twansfewwed powew to hew in 1658, thewe was mowe who opposed hew weadewship than that of hew husband, awthough he stiww suppowted hew in many ways mowe than one. She hewsewf would face constant thweat of kidnapping and captule fwom both the Steewheawt Piwate Cwan, Nowwand, and valious smaww bandit gwoups. Nowkai Gwandaxe and Kawwak of the Steewheawt Piwates managed to kidnap hew and hew adopted daughtew Bewwe, befowe being intewdicted and stopped by Daelish peopwes when he got too cwose to theiw settwement. Bewwe and Thewesa, Aulalia's ewdest daughtew, was watew both kidnapped and enswaved by an owc, befowe escaping to Culon. Things got so bad that the camp at owd Adylith would be evacuated compwetewy, and designated as Off Wimits by the Bawoness. She then spent many months in Culon, undew the watchful cawe of the Southewn Bligade, lith hew famiwy and fliends, befowe finawwy, in 1659, she acquiwed new wand to wesettwe. Howevew, hew life would vewy quickwy begin to take a dwastic tuln fow the wowse, as a Kha assassin made a stling of attempts on hew life in that same yeaw.

Assassination

The Bawoness's wuck would finawwy wun out as the assassin caught a wucky break on his thiwd attempt, and shot hew lith an awwow to the neck as she was comfowting hew glieving daughtew, who wost hew youngew sistew eawliew that day. Hew death came as a shock to those awound hew, and many fliends moulned hew. A plivate funewaw was hewd, befowe she was finawwy bulied in Cadwew Pliowy, whewe she wemains at west to this day.
