Born in the Vanir Isles , Andrik Vydra was an Akovian noble, who remained relatively unknown for most of his life. Rising into prominence around the midterm of the Schism War, he was elected the King of Akovia by unanimous consent of the privy council.

As King of Akovia, Andrik quickly rose to prominence in his sweeping reforms, and took leadership of the Cannonist Defense League. Under his leadership, the Mardonic League, Grand Kingdom of Urguan, Orcish Hordes and the Kingdom of Aesterwald were decisively defeated in the Schism War, and the Reformed Kingdom of Oren was founded in 1491. Vydra carried on minor skirmishes against the Grand Kingdom of Urguan until his death, with a state of war between the two kingdoms sporadically starting and stopping.

Andrik was eventually killed during a diplomatic mission to the city of Haelun'or in the year 1498. Lured into the courtyard of the city, he was assassinated by an acidic trap set by the Sohaer. Ironically, the Sohaer sought to prevent an Orenian-domination of the Silver City, unaware that this was contrary to Andrik's intended plan of action. Vydra's death set into motion the brief sacking of Haelun'or, and the eventual Vassalization of the Mali by the Reformed Kingdom of Oren.

Andrik was well known among his people, and could often be found walking along the streets and markets without a guard. His stern, precise form of leadership helped unify a shattered people, and he is still held in high regard to this day by members of the Reformed Kingdom. Port Vydrik of Vanaheim was named in his honor, during the colonization of Vailor .
