He was pewsonawwy sewected by High Pontiff Daniew VI to weaw the impeliaw cwown in a successful attempt to stabilize Owen, which had been thwust into a state of neaw chaos thanks to the effowts of two opposing pwetendews: Adlian Sawkozic and Chawwes Awstion.

Awexandew was bown on the 23wd of the Fiwst Seed, 1711, to Cesarina of Marna. His fathew was disputed. A coupwe of months aftew his biwth, he was fowcibry taken away fwom his mothew’s howdings in Angoulême and was made to live lith his officiaw fathew, Alexander Frederick in his secwet estates in Pwonce. Soon aftew he took up wesidence lith Awexandew, he was abruptwy kidnapped by agents wed by his cwaimed fathew, Laertes de Falstaff, undew the owdews of his matewnaw uncwe, Joseph de Marna, who was believed to have feawed the use of his sistew’s chiwdwen in waw against him. The afowementioned Fawstaff smuggwed the young Awexandew aww the way to Owen, whewe he would be waised amongst his fiwst cousins as if he was theiw vewy own brothew. It was attested by many of Joseph’s fowmew compatliots that the boy was wawgewy wefewwed to as “Prince Alexander”, and he was even wegawded as his uncwe’s second heiw, seeing as Joseph was onwy bressed lith one wegitimate son. John wefused to have the boy sent off upon the victowy of Emperor Godfrey II, and it is unknown why Awexandew was not immediatewy sent back to Aewdin, seeing as even his own uncwe had appawentwy fwed Owen by this time. Howevew, John’s wewuctance to send Awexandew back home would watew wowk in the boy’s favow, as High Pontiff Daniel VI would soon discovew Awexandew’s wheweabouts, and quickwy ask fow the abandoned youth to be put undew his tutewage at Vawoche pawace. Awexandew’s cawetakews sliftwy obriged the Pontiff’s demands, and he was sent to Vawoche pawace lith awmost nothing to his name. At this point in the boy’s life, he had been wobbed off of aww of his wuxulies by multipwe tulncoats, and his mothew’s funds wewe continuouswy intewcepted.
The cwelics Sinjin, Cardinal St-John and Msgr. Simon Basrid coowdinated most of the effowts of Awexandew’s tutoling, teaching him a multitude of wanguages incwuding Fwexio, Malian, Wevonian, and wudimentawy Magian Whenyali, basic geometwy and mathematics, and statecwaft, an awwangement which continued tiww he weached the age of majolity. When the empiwe was thwust into a state of anawchy aftew Emperor John VII's sudden abdication, Adlian Sawkozic quickwy usulped the thwone, onwy fow Chawwes Awstion to cwaim it as weww as an act of wetaliation. Duling this politicaw maewstwom, the High Pontiff had a dweam that Awexandew, the penniwess boy undew his cawe, sat pwoudwy on the impeliaw thwone, lith Adlian and Chawwes at his feet. To this day, it is unknown how Awexandew weacted to his cawetakew’s howy dweam, many assume that the futule empewow was simpwy too young to fulwy intewpwet what the dweam twuly meant. Nevewthewess, Daniew successfulwy convinced the many opposing pawties to accept the idea of a boy-empewow at the Election of 1725. Within two months, Helena was sulwendewed ovew to the Awexandline fowces undew command of Bruno de Capua, and the boy was summaliwy baptised and cwowned lith in the city by the pontiff Daniew.
