Biography

Early Life

Aleksandra Milena vas Ruthern was born during a heavy storm in Vidaus, within the hallowed halls of the Druzstra castle, on a night of great mourning following the deaths of both her maternal and paternal grandparents. She was named directly after her father, the Duke of Vidaus, and her deceased aunt, who succumbed to the Plague of Druzstra [1] decades before her birth. It was during her infancy that her parents found themselves enveloped in Norlandic conquest [2], a plot most protested by the peers of the realm [3]. Watching this firsthand from the moment she was born would drastically shape her life for years to come.

A portrait done of the young Lady Ruthern on her fifth nameday, of which she specifically asked to be titled "Strad" (c. 1911) after her favorite music disc.

Born the third of six children, Aleksandra was raised in a most competitive environment, feeling the need to fight with all her siblings for the favor of both her parents. Nevertheless, she grew close to her oldest ones—the then heiress, Elizaveta ‘Cometborn’ and Viktor Siegmund—while remaining distant with the youngest. Upon the latter, she felt the need to impose that domineering nature she emulated from her mother, who often used corporeal punishment as a means to get her point across. Sadly, this behavior did not stop with Aleksandra’s siblings. The young girl was mentioned to be quite cruel and conniving, using the powers of her house not only to boost her ego, but to mow down any other figure that dared cross her path; from spying on her peers, to being accused of attempting to poison one at only the age of seven.

This cruel behavior was often encouraged by her father—who she would often follow to meetings and excursions. Because of this, not only would she inherit his affinity for violence, but his political views, taking a swift interest in the matters of the realm. When in her mother’s care, she was pushed into studies expected of girls of her status—though due to her competitive nature, she trained restlessly to ensure she excelled at all of them. She grew obsessed with the notion of receiving praise. At an incredibly young age, she mastered dance at such a level that she had already been creating brand new choreography, showcasing such in the midst of the Junior Ledi Haense pageant. She also had a love of music, filling the streets of Karosgrad with the sounds of her own jukebox.
