Fernand Auguste Ashford de Lewes (3rd of Harren's Folley, 1888), first child and first son of Hughes Laurent Ashford de Savoie-Lewes, and his wife Anna Celementia of Aldersberg. Fernand would later become Baron of Virdain in 1914.
Early Life
Born in the year 1888 on the 3rd of Harren's Folly, Fernand Auguste Ashford de Lewes was the first of seven children born to Hughes Laurent and Anna Clementina. He experienced fair treatment and received standard education. As his parents grew older though, Fernand was witness to the decline of their health, poor treatment towards his younger siblings, and eventually a tragic accident in 1896 in which both of their parents had passed in. It was then that Fernand, being the eldest sibling, became Patriarch. In the year 1907, he moved the family from their home in Ulmsbottom to the capital of Aaun, New Vienne. The de Lewes' swiftly began to make a name for themselves in the new land, taking residence on Eleanor's Way 1, establishing a business there, and gaining ownership of the City Tavern, The Savoyard. This was primarily thanks to Queen Eleanor of Aaun, who in many ways treated the refugees like family and guided the Patriarch during times of hardship. It was with her help that the once disorderly and chaotic family began to arrange marriages with some of the most influential Peers of the Realm.
