Ant's Blight is a darkly pigmented fungus that occurs on the bark of fruit trees. While uncommon, this fungus plagues orchards with tightly-packed trees and mutates the trees' fruit.
Description
Ant's Blight appears as a swarm of tiny, shiny black spots connected by deep roots that tap into the tree's water supply. The size of the dots can range from the size of a mustard seed to the size of a pinto bean. Ant's Blight spreads through the spores it releases in the spring or from trees grown from infected fruit. These fruit develop tumor-like growths, taste disgusting when eaten, and can be processed to access the fungus' properties.
Habitat and distribution
Ant's Blight is generally found in warm areas exposed to sunlight, where orchards are usually located. Currently, it can be found on the road to Haelun'or.
Cultivating
Alongside collecting the fruit produced by infected trees, Ant's Blight can also be farmed by entwining its roots with wood or stone surfaces and exposing it to direct sunlight. It is recommended to either cultivate it in deserts or in controlled greenhouse environments. It spreads once per three OOC days.
Uses
Ant's Blight is used only for its alchemical properties.
