Soon enough, the Curonian army revered him for his martial talent and he as asked to not only fight in, but lead the Duchess's vanguard during the skirmish.
Leading the vanguard as a flank squad, his quick thinking saved the Curonian army from devastating losses during the battle -- Initially ordering his unit to pepper the Adrian back lines with hit and run tactics to draw them away from the frontlines, once the bait had been taken he ordered a full charge and completely overwhelmed the Adrian army.
Quickly becoming a soldier of note, then Crown-Prince Antonius I, Emperor of Man sought to hire the sellsword and bring him in the Nauzican Brigade. An unknown sum was paid, and Karl begun serving the Horen Dynasty. Fighting alongside another famed Nauzican, Arthur against the Reiver threats.

In 1712, he returned with his work finished and not a single scratch on his armor and for this the Emperor named him his Justice. Though the honor would be short lived, as Ser Calculus de Sola whom served as the former Justice rode for the capital enraged at his dismissal as Justice. The two engaged in an honor duel, and within minutes Karl thrust his blade through Calculus's throat.
Calculus's death opened a spot in the Dragon Knights, and Karl was quickly raised up to the Honor.
