Hans Rovin (18th of the Grand Harvest 1660 - 20th of Bitter Harvest 1706), was the head of House Rovin as the Baron of Arnheim and titular-Margrave of Vanderfell. He also served as a knight and mercenary under the Empire of Man. A hard and loyal man, Hans led a company of his own, known as the Free Company of Arnheim. He eventually married, in 1689, Emma Ludovar, producing two children before he ventured of to fight in the Yatl Wastelands of Atlas. His wife was murdered and his only son was kidnapped by bandits in 1704, the final records of an appearance made by Hans in Renatus being weeks later, seemingly abandoning his home. His whereabouts and death are not accounted for, it is assumed he perished fighting the remaning Vaeyl Order forces in the south of the continent.
His only son, Stefan, would remain a captive of a brigand group known as The Merry Band, though eventually falling in love with a fellow captive and maiden of Markev, Wilhemina. Together, they sired a single child: Matilda Rovin. During an escape attempt not long after the birth of their only child, Stefan would be killed. This would leave Matilda as the main heir of both Hans Rovin and the direct line of the family.
