Biography
Early Life
John Augustus Galbraith was the firstborn son to Carles Galbraith, Baron of Castelorena and Irena Ruthern during the summer of Balian, 1920. As a young child, John spent his time at Balian's docks, finding a love for fishing early on. He traveled to nations alike - selling any wares he deemed worthy.
During his early teenage years, John warded under Adrian I, King of Balian. He saw Adrian as more of a father figure than his actual father, Carles. Carles had served as an officer in the Balianese Armada throughout John's childhood. However, rumors and public scenes revealed Carles to be abrasive and hot-tempered, often yelling at Armada members and sometimes even his children. John frequently argued with his father and felt unsure if he could make him proud, which caused him to develop a disdain for Carles at a very young age.
Upon Carles' death at the end of John's teenage years, the now Baron sought to raise his two twin sisters, Holly and Ipera Galbraith, with the guidance of other people he held dear to him. The two twins would often travel together, trying to escape the reality of their father's death. About a year later, Holly disappeared from Balian - presumably due to her grief and would not return until her adult years for reasons unknown to John.
During John's ascension to the Royal Legate of Balian, he was known to have very pacifist beliefs. Before the Aevos Coalition War, John frequented with Veletz in attempts to put a halt to the hostilities.

Marriage
John asked for Lucia de Pelear's hand in marriage in his early thirties, which she accepted after he got the blessing of Cesar II, Viceroy of Hyspia. Their ceremony took place in the church of Valdev, Haense, to which many family and friends attended - showering the couple with their congratulations and gifts. John and Lucia, a year after their marriage, started to have children. They ended up with eleven in total - one of them a bastard. Notably, one of John's sons, Alfonso, was a very outgoing child, joining the Armada as a recruit before his teenage years. The young boy believed he could take down anything and anyone - no matter what the cost. Such behavior led to his early demise just right before his teenage years, being murdered at the hands of an unknown darkspawn. John had his son cremated, storing his ashes in an urn. Afterwards, he set out a public missive to warn that whoever killed his son, would be brought to justice.
Years into their marriage, rumors around Balian spread that John was having an affair with Procurator, Rhys var Ruthern.
