William Edward Roswell (16th of the Amber Cold, 1531 – 20th of the Sun's Smile, 1551) was the third son and disowned of Duke Arthur Roswell and self styled Lord of Hassheld. Notorious for his scandalous actions in marrying without his fathers consent, premarital promiscuity, later marrying again to claim the island of Hassheld. He later died in an orcish raid when negotiations with the Orenian emperor halted.

William Roswell acquired his infamy through numerous questionable acts such as wenching and marrying without his fathers consent. Due to his fathers absence on many battlefields he was often left to represent House Roswell by leading the Istrian legion alone, which garnered the only positive aspect of his reputation. He later acquired the island of Hassheld, starting to fortify the island soon after ascending himself to the self-endowed title of Lord of Hassheld. This was the catalyst to numerous arguments and disagreements with his father whichculminated in his disownment from the Roswell family after he refused to incorporate the isle into the Duchy of Istria. He eventually started negotiations with the emperor to protect his lands from the Orcs, but he was soon after slain by orcs at the footsteps of his castle, leaving a son and a widowed wife alive. His lands later went to his brother Richard Roswell rather than his son.
