The Elven Cold War was a rivalry between the Dominion of Malin, the Conclave of Gladewynn, and the Isle of Aegrothond. The conflict was spurred by the assassination of High Prince Abelas Caerme'onn.

In the Bronze Rebellion, three Elven men rose to prominence: Kairn Calithil, the son of the preceding reigning High Prince of the Dominion of Malin, Khaine Csarathaire, and Belestram Sylvaeri the descendant of the last High Prince of Malinnor, Eleron Sylvaeri.
