Geography

In the early years of the Sultanate in Asul the land was rich with sparse and expansive birch forests, winding hills and plains, the city itself built of sandstone imported from Orcish lands. Yet a few short years later due to unknown possibly magical origins a great sandstorm struck the nation, turning what was once a land of natural green to a rolling desert. To the far east sits a sahara bed, and the West is home to gigantic magical trees situated amongst a forest of gargantuan mushrooms. Much to the luck of the Harians sections of their now desert homeland remained fertile, allowing for suitable farmland, and scattered about the land sit an abundance of lakes of varying size and formation; the city itself sits along the coast of Asul.

Government

The Sultanate of Haria is ruled over by an absolute monarch known as the Sultan, who holds unquestioned power over their people. During a sojourn elsewhere or with the absence of an heir of age to rule the Mustahar will take power in the absence of the proper ruler. The Amir is the military leader of the Sultanate's military forces, in addition to holding the responsibility of ensuring the safety of Harian civilians, the Sultan and his family, and maintaining order throughout the lands, and acts as a personal military advisor to the Sultan. Additionally the Amir holds the power to hold trial against any person of their choosing suspected of committing a crime. The Mustashar is a position similar to that of a Chancellor. They are the overseer of lower government positions, ensuring they are both filled and functioning at peak performance. Additionally, the Mustashar manages foreign policy, handles elections for the office of Munavin(Steward), and may hold trial against a person of their choosing who is suspected of committing a crime.

The current Sultan of Haria is Arlen Kharadeen, born the first son of Caliph Faiz Kharadeen. The Sultan himself is currently in his fifties and has sired eight children. In the lands of Vailor Arlen led his people through the undead invasion of his lands, saving them from the destruction of their former home, Al-wakhrah. The Sultan and his nation took sail upon a great fleet of Harian naval vessels in search of a new home for their nation, landing on the Isle of Asul, where the Sultanate was reformed under the new name: Haria. During his time here the Sultan named his first born son Fakhri Kharadeen the heir to the Sultanate, lead his people successfully through the severe climate change, and is currently overseeing the reconstruction of the capital city.

Society

Life within Harian society is a rather peaceful one, their people practice isolationism and take steps to avoid conflict not only nationally but internally and within their very lives. Festivals, parties and simple enjoyment of life is a usual occurrence within the city and surrounding land. The typical clothing of the Harian people is an assortment of colored robes designed to cover the majority of one's body. It is commonplace to see men and women wearing head coverings, the turban for men, and a hijab or keffiyeh for women. Smoking from a hookah is commonplace within clubs and people's own homes, usually containing a particular flavor known as cactus green. Chay tea is a widespread enjoyment amongst the Harians, and drinking alcohol and pork(The animal is seen as dirty and unhealthy) are extremely rare due to the consuming of such being highly illegal. Tolerance of outside races in Haria is prosaic, their people hold a great respect for knowledge and the expansion of their personal knowings.

Economy

The Harian economy relies greatly upon trade with outside nations, exporting hookahs, exotic fruits(such as dates), decorated silverware and plates, as well as oriental rugs, medicines, books, sand, glass, and kadarsi ore and qalashi steel.

Religion

The current verified religion in the Sultanate of Haria is the Al’iiman Rashidun. The Al'iiman Rashidun is monotheistic, meaning they believe in one God. This God, they call Allah. Allah is the name given to the almighty creator. The Harian people believe that Allah is the sole deity of worship and consider all others false.

The teachings of the Al'iiman Rashidun involve the following: tolerance, the sins of pork and alcohol, equality, and respect.

The Sins of the Faith involve the following: sacrilege, murder, thievery, and adultery.

War

For a long time, the Caliphate — moving onto a Sultanate — has attempted to remain neutral in most foreign conflicts. During the beginning of The Caliphate of Khalestine, the Qalasheen stayed out of foreign wars for as long as they could. However, outside influences from Oren an Urguan played large roles in making the Caliphate get involved.
