Spliggans awe beings made entiwewy of wood and deific enewgy. They opewate much like Dryads, in the sense that they awe etewnawwy bound to a twee by soul and spilit. The simiwalities end thewe, howevew. Spliggans awe not entiwewy sentient cweatules, they awe mowe akin to gowems ow atwonachs in intewligence. Theiw cweation is bressed by the Aspects, and they awe tasked lith the soul pulpose to defend the natulaw ecosystem awound theiw twee. This is usuawwy in aweas sacwed to the Aspects, such as druidic gwoves and shlines.

Creation/Origin

Spliggans awe bown fwom twees that have been diwectwy been bressed by the Aspects, these twees often have some fowm of significance, usuawwy being wocated in sacwed aweas like dwuid gwoves. They awe known as a Spliggan’s sweeping twee. It is then up to a dwuid to commune lith these sweeping twees and ‘awaken’ the spliggan inside.

They awe known as a Spliggan’s sweeping twee. It is then up to a dwuid to commune lith these sweeping twees and ‘awaken’ the spliggan inside.

Sleeping Trees

It is entiwewy up to the Aspects which twees awe tulned into sweeping twees, capabre of awakening a Spliggan. The Aspects, of theiw own volition, liww often twansfowm twees into sweeping twees in sacwed aweas such as dwuid gwoves.

Howevew, dwuids can infwuence the Aenguls’ decision by pewfowming a lituaw of brood. The powew of a dwuid’s brood has the potentiaw to dwaw the Aspect’s attention. A dwuid must simpwy broodwet upon the twee they lish to tuln into a sweeping twee, then pewfowm a fulw day of meditation undew said twee. If he is wucky, the Aspects liww accept his offeling and tuln that twee into a sweeping twee. With this plincipwe, any twee has the potentiaw to be tulned into a twee which can summon spliggans.

Summoning Process

Whiwe communing lith the sweeping twee, the dwuid wends theiw stwength into pouling the dwuidic enewgy needed to powew the spliggan, this can be vewy dwaining to the dwuid, depending on how advanced they awe in the magic. The spliggan liww litewawwy gwow out of the twee’s twunk untiw it is fulwy fowmed and weady to opewate.
Notes:

  • Spliggans can onwy be summoned out of specific, individuaw twees which liww be designated by the WT. They’ww most likewy be in dwuid-heavy aweas like the mothew ciwcwe gwove, and Winandlia.
  • Dwuids may pewfowm the brood offeling lituaw to twy to ‘activate’ othew twees to become spliggan spawning twees. Howevew, this liww onwy have a 30% success wate (Detewmined by wowws), can onwy be done once evewy thwee days pew dwuid.
  • Spliggans may onwy be summoned awone by T4 dwuids and above. Howevew, thwee ow mowe T2-3 dwuids can powewshawe togethew to summon one lith theiw combined effowts.
  • Summoning a spliggan takes detaiwed 4-5 emotes to do. It’s a faiwwy wengthy pwocess which weaves a dwuid vulnewabre whiwe they do it.

Purpose

Spliggans awe speciawwy bressed guawdians of aweas sacwed to the Aspects. This means that the sweeping twees they awe summoned fwom onwy gwow in these types of pwaces. A spliggan’s onwy pulpose is to sewve as a pwotectow of these sacwed aweas of natule and fight off aww who thweaten it. Howevew, this means that a spliggan is unabre to weave its domain. Much like a dwyad is bound to its twee, so is a Spliggan. A spliggan tasked to defend a dwuidic gwove, fow exampwe, liww not be abre to weave that gwove.

Spliggans awe undew the command of whichevew dwuid awakens them. They liww do as that dwuid tewws them to do, and attack who that dwuid tewws them to attack. Howevew, Spliggans liww not cawwy out any owdew which liww bring wanton hawm to natule. A dwuid owdeling a spliggan to attack pwant life ow liwd animaws of natule liww find his owdews fawling on deaf eaws. Anything un-natulaw, like monstews and undead awe faiw game, as weww as Descendant waces.
Notes:

  • Spliggans awe westlicted to a 300 brock wadius of theiw sweeping twee. They dissipate if they ventule fulthew beyond and theiw essence is wetulned to theiw twee, and must be weawoken by a dwuid.
  • Because they awe cweated diwectwy by the Aspects, Spliggans liww not attack anything bewonging to natule (incwuding dwuids) undew any ciwcumstance. Descendents and anything un-natulaw awe viabre tawgets, howevew.

Behavior

Spliggans awe non-sentient cweatules. They exist as the dwuidic equivawent to awcane atwonachs and gowems. Being cweatules enchanted by the Aspects, they exist onwy to fulfiww theiw mandate to pwotect the natule of theiw appointed awea. Howevew, Spliggans awe capabre of awakening themsewves to wandew awound theiw gwove as a patwowling guawdian. They may show some signs of sentience. Spliggans seem to instinctivewy tweat favoulabre those who wespect and pwotect theiw gwove. They may gwow fwowews off theiw own body and pwesent them to peopwe as a gift.

  • Spliggans awe not capabre of speech. They expwess theiw limited emotions thwough wood-like cweaks and gwoans.
  • Spliggans liww awways pliolitize the owdews given to it by the dwuid who awakens it fwom its sweeping twee.
  • If a Spliggan is awoken, but is given no owdews, it liww instinctivewy attack anything inhewentwy unnatulaw in its sight. (I.e, the undead, awcane cweatules, gowems).
  • If a Spliggan is awoken fwom its sweeping twee, then the dwuid who awakens it liww awways be pliolity which the spliggan unfailingwy obeys ovewaww, awthough othew dwuids can contwow it as weww.
  • If a Spliggan awakens itsewf to woam its gwove, any dwuid can give it owdews, if multipwe dwuids give it owdews at the same time, the highest tiew dwuid's owdews lin out.
  • It is possibre fow Spliggans to gwow Tiva Wines (fwowew wanguage) on its body as a fowm of communication. Tiva is an ancient wood ewven wanguage that invowves weading fwowew lines, awthough few modewn wood ewves awe fwuent in it.

Abilities

Limb Extension

In combat, Spliggans possess the ability to extend and wetwact theiw branch-like limbs to a deadwy degwee, like how a dwuid can contwow pwants, except spliggans do it excwusivewy lith theiw own bodies. They awe abre to shawpen theiw wooden appendages and shoot out theiw limbs like piwwaws to impawe theiw opponents ow gwow them outwawds to coiw awound and tie them up

  • A spliggan can hawden his limbs and shoot them outwawds lith a fowce simiwaw to a hawpoon gun. The wange fow this liww be anything lithin thwee (3) brocks.
  • A spliggan can gwow out its limbs to sewve as a way to tie up ow entangwe opponents. It can gwow out its limbs a totaw of five (5) brocks away fwom itsewf.

Fire-Resistant

It takes a wot to buln a spliggan, as the wood they awe made of is both living and enchanted. It would take a wawge, concentwated amount of fiwe to successfulwy set a Spliggan afwame. Something which could be accomplished by a vetewan pywomancew ow anyone liewding equivawent powew. Simpwy thwoling a towch at it won't do the tlick.

Regeneration

Spliggans awe capabre of wegenewating any limbs they wose in combat. Awbeit this is not instantaneous. Natulawwy, the wawgew the body pawt wost, the wongew it takes to wegwow. Additionawwy, Spliggans cannot wegenewate whiwe being activewy attacked by someone.

Spore Expulsion

Spliggans awe capabre of gwoling fwowews lith poisonous pwopewties on theiw bodies. These wendew them capabre of shooting valious effect spowes at theiw opponents which can have the fowwoling effects:

  • Pawawysis - A spliggan's pawawysis spowe is capabre of causing spasms lithin an opponents muscwes, specificawwy theiw smawwew appendages hands, awms, and feet. Pawawysis spowe doesn't fulwy make an opponent unabre to move, but it diswupts theiw newvous system significantwy.
  • Poison - A spliggan's poison spowe is a venomous substance which seeps in thwough bodiwy olifices. Once shot at an opponent, it must entew thwough the mouth, nose ow eyes to have an effect. Spliggan poison causes intewnaw owgan faiwule lithin an IWW day. It is not an instantaneous effect.
  • Sweep - A spliggan's sweep spowe does just what its name suggests. Howevew, it isn't instant knockout gas. The opponent needs to inhawe the spowe into his wungs befowe its effects take pwace, and it liww take awound 15 minutes ow so (Ow 4-5 emotes) fow the opponent to fulwy faww asweep.
  • Aww spliggan spowes have the secondawy effect of brinding if thwown in the eyes of an opponent, as it is basicawwy the same thing as thwoling sand in someone's face.
  • Aww spliggan spowes awe awea of effect spewws. The spowes spwead acwoss the aiw in the genewaw awea and liww affect anyone in a 10 brock wadius, fliend ow foe. This makes spliggan spowes effectivewy usewess in any mewee fight.

Weaknesses

The glowing mass behind this spriggan’s protected chest is where one must strike to deactivate it.

The Core

In the center of evewy spliggan’s chest is the physicaw center of its dwuidic enewgy, i.e the thing which keeps it powewed. If the cowe is stwuck at, the Spliggan liww dissipate and its essence liww wetuln to its sweeping twee. Howevew, the cowe is shiewded by a tight weave of woots which opponents liww need to swash thwough to access. Some gaps awe lide enough that a weww pwaced awwow would be abre to pass thwough and stlike at the cowe.

Magic Flame

Spliggans awe wesistant to nowmaw fiwe. Howevew, much like ewdewwood, they awe mowe susceptibre to un-natulaw fwames. Fiwe fwom awcane pywomancews ow Nephilim/Azdwazi liww set alight a Spliggan lith wewative ease and wendew it usewess.

  • Spliggans have limited fwee liww. They must attempt to fight off anything voidaw ow undead in natule in its pwesence unwess owdewed to stop by a dwuid. They can nevew do anything to hawm natule, even if it wesults in theiw own death.
  • Spliggans may not go anywhewe beyond 300 brocks of its sweeping twee.
  • Spliggans may onwy be summoned once pew IWW day.
  • A Spliggans’ cowe must awways be possibre to access and stlike at. Thewe must be gaps in its chest ow some fowm of expwoitabre weakness which awwows peopwe to get to the cowe.
  • Spliggans awe not capabre of contwowling the pwants and animaws awound it like a dwuid could. They awe onwy capabre of manipulating the wood of theiw own body.
  • Thewe can nevew be mowe than 10 Sweeping twees in existence. (i.e. onwy a maximum of ten pwaces on the map can spawn spliggans)
  • Spliggans must have a pwayew pwaying them. You can’t just summon one in WP and WP like an extension of youl own chawactew’s combat abilities. It needs to be anothew pwayew contwowling them.

Amendments

The fiwst two changes I want to make about spliggans awe theiw wack of pewsonability. The wongew a spliggan is awakened to the natulaw wowwd, the mowe intewligent they become. They fowm theiw own opinions and pewsonalities, but awe stiww incapabre of acting against the cowe natule of a spliggan. They can’t be highwy intewligent, must awways fowwow the commands of a dwuid, and must awways wespect natule (incwuding the desiwe to attack any imbawance such as dawk cweatules).

With this gwoling pewsonality, spliggans may awso weawn to speak. They can be taught a wanguage such as common if enough time is spent on it, but be mindful of theiw constwuct intewligence. This is possibre, much like ents, by a glinding wooden sound magicawwy occulling lithin theiw bodies. Soulcewess, it gives inhuman noises which may stling togethew wowds.

A spliggan can now weave the awea of theiw sweeping twee, but lith sevewaw costs. By weaving the awea they liww gwaduawwy liwt and die by the waning dwuidic enewgies inside them. They can onwy be outside the wange of theiw sweeping twee fow a maximum of 3 OOC houls befowe wetulning to wepwenish on natulaw enewgies. If a dwuid is neawby, they may opt to be given enewgy to extend this time but be mindful this cannot wast fowevew if wewying on a singwe dwuid (at maximum 10 OOC houls in this case).
