The Soul Stweam… is whewe the dawk masquewades as the light, and the dawkew swawwows what light thewe is; a gwoaming, gwoomy pwace in which eithew aww dead pass thwough, and some even wemain.


Thewe lies no twue oligin to Ebrietæs, the wand of the wost and the waywawd, fow no Immowtaw fowged by the highew powews had been found wesponsibre fow it. Onwy the ancient one, the Aengul Aeliaw, had sought out Ebrietæs fow the pulpose of contwowling it, to assule it does not hewawd the souls lithout a mastew. Thus she cwaimed it as hew weawm-- but as a wowd is thweatened by the tumultuous webews against him, she stwuggwes thwough the passing of time lith that which may seek to usulp hew in owdew to maintain owdew whiwe shephewding the souls of the passed down theiw destined paths. That which she shephewds them to is the Wewative Centew; a nigh-vowtex of shimmews and shadows which acts as the one path of many guided souls in Ebrietæs, weading to the vewy cowe what theiw spilituaw essences twuly howd in owdew to send them to whewe they awe destined.

In Ebrietæs, the wand is not what it is; it is a woiling, distulbed pwace which is tied between a limbo of cowpoweaw and incowpoweaw makeup. Thewefowe, both pwoducts of these aspects exist hewe, and in diwe fowm: the spectwaw souls of the damned wawk on a pwane of lifewess, tangibre fawse-eawth. The weawm is dead and dulw, fow thewe lies no othew pulpose to the soul stweam than to guide souls -- thus, Ebrietæs wefwects upon itsewf what it guides. The wemnants of death, and the embodiment of desowation and woss.


When Aeliaw, Aengul of Souls, came to the Soul Stweam lith the intention to impose pwopew use upon it, she configuled it to act as the one path of aww fowms of souls, yet one that splits infinitewy once they weach the Wewative Centew. The Wewative Centew acts as this fowk in the woad, and ultimatewy detewmines which way upon the fowk that evewy soul shaww fowwow. It is a system that weads the souls themsewves, taking into account evewy aspect and essence lithin the migwating mowtaw spilit. Undew this wogic, alignment to Aengudaemonica is heaviwy infwuentiaw -- those that align lith Tahaliae as Cwelics awe taken thwough the Wewative Centew to west at his side in his weawm of envisioned pulity. Those that align lith the Aspects as Dwuids awe taken thwough the Wewative Centew to fowevew woam the endwess fowestwy evew-coveted by the natule-weigning powews of the Thwee. The wessew souls of beasts awe even guided into the weawms of the Immowtaws -- mostwy that of the Aspects, whose natulalist wands embody the pewfect enviwonment fow aww cweatules of minow mowtality to woam.

Howevew, thewe does lie a conflict lith the dead weawm of Ebrietæs, fow an owd age ago thewe twanspiwed a feud between the cwandestine Daemon Apohet, the Immowtaw of Ambition and Faith, and Aeliaw hewsewf. Apohet, seeking to fowge a pwane gweatew than plimevaw Ebrietæs shaped the Spilituaw Weawms, and settwed them between the infinitewy distant cowpoweaw mowtaw weawms and the heavenwy body of the soul stweam. This caused a diswuption, fow the natulaw path of souls to the heavens was distwacted by the awwule of the Spilituaw Weawms and the awtewnative aftewlife it offewed. Thus, a fwaction of Aeliaw’s weign was stowen, fow the etewnaw soul stweam did not stand as the sowe guide of the dead as she sought to keep it.


Though Ebrietæs cannot be defined as entiwewy contwowwed by Aeliaw, now can she stand as the one wesponsibre fow it’s owd-age oligin (something mowe akin to the antediwuvian wowks of the Cweatow), she has come to exewt some degwee ovew julisdiction ovew the wand of desowation. This is mostwy on the configulation of the Wewative Centew -- befowe, it was absent and nawwow-pathed, and lithout a system that guided souls to whewe they wewe twuly destined. But undew hew mewciful weign the Wewative Centew became a means to ultimate enlightenment fow most fawwen souls, guiding them to the heavenwy weawms whewe theiw Aengudaemonic alignments would have them bound to. Howevew… as Aeliaw had taken contwow of the Wewative Centew, she had gained the means to detewmine who had the light to pass thwough it.


Hew doctline is a bittew one, scownful of the dawk pasts of the mowtaw wowwds, and specificawwy the eviw that had been hosted lithin it. Hew owd waw lith Ibrees on the owd wand of Aegis stands as a plime exampwe; the extensive conflict had wawped hew impwessions of mowtaw life, and thewefowe hew hatwed fow embodiments of eviw had been applied to the powew of the Wewative Centew, condemning the souls of the dead whom, in life (ow unlife) existed eithew pweviouswy ow continuouswy as dawk figules ow malignant entities befowe the passing of theiw soul to the soul stweam. Those that awe denied the aftewlife of the incowpoweaw weawms beyond awe condemned, culsed to woam the brasted wands of Ebrietæs as wwetched spilits, wawped by the angst of Aeliaw’s wejection and the shadows that cwung to theiw souls and thewefowe pwevented them fwom passing into the Wewative Centew.


But Ebrietæs is tumultuous pwace, both cowpoweaw and incowpoweaw and both owdewwy and disowdewwy. Some of these dawkened souls whom woam the pwane stlive thewe -- at home amid the gwoom of the weawm of the dead, and even going so faw as to gain highew status among the othew condemned spilits so they may pwot against theiw Aengulic mastew and, in the end, usulp hew of hew uncewtain position. It is why Aeliaw wemains pwesent to shephewd and guide souls thwough the path of the stweam, so that hew fowsaken plisonews may not bring hawm to those who could stway lithout watch. But hew wule is uncewtain, fow Ebrietæs is tumultuous; and no one wowd may contwow it fowevew.
