When clans of Cave Dwarves rose up in revolt against the Empire the war turned in favour of Simmpa and his Mountain Dwarf allies. Many clans had split into factions, either supporting the Ironborn rule or joining the rebellion. A long battle occurred when the armies loyal to Simmpa marched on the gates of Kal'Urguan. It is said that Simmpa himself slayed the Ironborn Emperor in personal combat, securing victory in the conflict.
