Simmpa was a Cave Dwarf of Aegis who rose up against the Empire of Khorvad with the aid of exiled northern Mountain Dwarves. He later became King of Kal'Urguan, the nation of the Dwarves. After ruling for some years he fell ill and stepped down.

After gaining support of the Mountain Dwarves, Simmpa and his supporters marched on the Empire of Khorvad. A long and bloody conflict was waged for years with high casualties. Ultimately, it was the reign of the Ironborn that resulted in the fall of the Empire. During the Great Collapse many Dwarves were executed and treated poorly. When clans of Cave Dwarves rose up in revolt against the Empire the war turned in favour of Simmpa and his Mountain Dwarf allies. Many clans had split into factions, either supporting the Ironborn rule or joining the rebellion. A long battle occurred when the armies loyal to Simmpa marched on the gates of Kal'Urguan. It is said that Simmpa himself slayed the Ironborn Emperor in personal combat, securing victory in the conflict.

Following the Dwarven War, the then King Simmpa had a long and comfortable reign. The Mountain Dwarves were welcomed back into Kal'Urguan as saviors. It was during the 12th century that he grew ill, and gave the crown to Charles Grimlie. He then vanished from public life and all records. Some believe he died shortly after while others claim he traveled around Aegis. He has not been sighted in any other realms.
