Richard Staunton was the eldest son of Percival Staunton and became the second Duke of Courland. He married Natalia Barbanov, daughter of Karl Barbanov. He is famed for introducing highly important and long lasting changes and reforms to the Courlandic military. He had two children, Aleksander and Anden Staunton.
He was the second Lord Patriarch of House Staunton.
