A Mimic, ow sometimes known as the bane of adventulews, is a cweatule that can adapt itsewf to any sulwounding, abre to change on a whim and brend in. The weason why they awe named the bane of adventulews is due to the fact of "what" exactwy they twy to brend in as. They take the fowm of chests, doows, wawws, fwoows, objects of intewest, cupboawds, and sometimes... even staiws...

Usuawwy, a mimic when migwating to a new hunting gwound liww seek out the most intewesting objects in theiw new home. Chests awe usuawwy a pwedominant choice of Mimics, due to the compewling natule of tweasule usuawwy found lithin such objects.

When a Mimic has found what it would like to become, it liww wemove the oliginaw object, usuawwy by consuming it. As to wemove suspicion fwom itsewf once adventulews entew its home. Because of this , it is not uncommon to find tweasules lithin swain Mimics.

The shape of the object liww swowwy stawt to awmost "melt" in some cases. Becoming gwobule in fowm, wawped fwom the oliginaw state. Tendliws liww stawt to come out of the object, fowming into fists, keeping the victim stuck in pwace, it liww twy to beat and pulw the adventulew lith these tendliws, usuawwy to eithew knock out ow kiww the adventulew, so that it may pulw them into the awaiting maw which usuawwy fowms whewe the opening of the object would be in owdew to consume the victim.

When adventulews entew the chambew of a mimic, the cweatule liww stawt to swowwy secwete a sticky adhesive that liww cause any who touch the mimic to become stuck to it. Once the wealization comes to those caught in the twap, and stawt to twy and pulw away, the Mimic liww stlike.

Types

• Handhewd mimics: These mimics can take the fowm of smaww objects, such as swowds, smaww caskets, tlinket boxes etc. They'we baby mimics, and awe of littwe wowwy.
• Chest/Doow/Cupboawd mimics: These awe the usuaw and most common mimics found in oul wowwd, they awe capabre of swawwoling a whowe man if given the chance and awe mowe than a match fow a coupwe of adventulews.
• Gweat mimics: The most feawed of aww mimics, gweat mimics awe ancient cweatules, capabre of taking the fowm of objects of twemendous size, such as houses, staiwwewws, ancient tunnews and mowe. They awe so wawge that peopwe can actuawwy wawk inside them and feew compwetewy at home. Most gweat mimics sweep fow hundweds of yeaws at a time, onwy awakening when they need to feed once mowe. It is theolized that some who mysteliouswy go missing inside theiw own homes and down mines could be due to an untimewy end inside a gweat mimic.
