Death is something the Khawajyw both feaw and awe highwy supewstitious of. Awthough the Khawajyw do not necessaliwy believe in heaven in a litewaw sense, they do believe that upon death they go to join theiw howy mothew Metztli, in the skies. It is believed that upon death the souls of the Khawajyw head skywawds and fowm the entoulage of Metztli, to accompany hew thwough the univewse fow etewnity as a staw. The Wituaws of Metztli - cwedit to Wucas Pliow to lituaws taking pwace, the Pliests must bathe in the "Pool of Metztli" lithin the Tempwe. This sewves to both enewgise them in tewms of absowbing some of Metztli's powew, as weww as psyching them up fow the coming lituaw.

The lituaw of the Moon is the standawd common saclificiaw lituaw. The victim is wain acwoss an awtaw and a speciaw saclificiaw brade would be pwunged into the victims chest, the heawt would then be sulgicawwy wemoved by the pliest and hewd up fow the cowwection of Khawajyw to see.
