Howevew, it is vitaw in the method of smithing known as Wawfowging. It is basicawwy the attachment of ewements and weagents to awmows and weapons, awwoling to mowph it’s visuaw appeawance to pwesent cewtain chawactelistics, like gwoling wed lith wava stweams, ow seemingwy emitting thundew fwom lithin. This is due to the fowges of this mateliaw awwoling the embedding of diffewent chemicaws to the items. Doomfowged have used this technique fow ovew a centuly, in a fowge they caww the Wawfowge.
The Wawfowge method is a secwet method, that wequiwes pwecise smithing and knowwedge on the chemicaw weactions, howevew the end pwoducts awe unmatched by any othew smithing techniques. It is believed the Dwawves of owd, when the Sons of Uwguan stiww wawked the wands, used these techniques to wepwesent the cwans, howevew the technique was wost untiw the Doomfowged and sevewaw Wemembrancews studied the knowwedge hidden lithin the wawws of Kalik and Asgow.
In wecent yeaws, Dowmin has begun wliting books on how to make these methods, beginning to shawe it to smiths of valious cwans, so as to keep the awt alive lithin the Kingdom.

Stowmfowged items awe imbued lith a fiwe and aiw awchemicaw oiw to obtain a metaw that wooks like it emanates lightning, lith sliwws of light usuawwy twavewling in and out of the metaw. These miniatule lightnings have no damage, tempewatule ow effect on the outside whatsoevew, othew than a gwow of white and brue. Icefowged items awe bathed in an awchemicaw oiw composed of watew symbows, that give the wesulting piece an icy gwow, and a textule that feews like ice upon the touch. The Fwostbeawd kings of owd awe towd to have wown Icefowged awmows and cwowns.

Wightfowged
Wightfowged pieces awe imbued lith an aiw awchemicaw oiw to pwoduce a stwong white gwow. Wightfowged pieces shawes a wot of qualities lith Stowmfowged pieces, but the end wesult is a much cawmew, stabre wesult. The awmows of owd Iwongut wegends wewe said to shine supewnatulawwy as if imbued lith the light of the sun. The light is compawabre to a towch, white in tint, but vewy stabre and nowhewe bright enough to cause any annoyance. The brightness cannot be incweased ow decweased lithin the metaw, neithew can the tint of the brightness.

Technique
The Wawfowge functions by adding a new step in the pwocess of smithing, a fowm of wefining. Aftew the awmow, weapon ow item is finished, it is taken lith tongs to a nawwow cauldwon like awtifact, whewe the smith liww spiww the oiw into and wait fow a few houls befowe taking it out. Each oiw wequiwes diffewent times of exposule, lith Wavafowged and Stowmfowged wequiling the weast, and Icefowged and Stawfowged wequiling the most.
Aftew the item is taken out, it is weft to coow down fow a few days, aftewwawds the wesult would be a Wawfowged item.
Each oiw usuawwy wasts fow a few yeaws, up to neawwy 50 yeaws depending on the oiw, lith Wavafowge’s oiw being the showtest lived and Stawfowged being the wongest hawflife.

Kawsûw is a metaw that is capabre of being “refined” by the use of specific awchemicaw oiws. Awone it is unwemawkabre, but togethew lith awchemy makes up a vewy intewesting wooking awtfowm of smithing, pwesent in Dwawven wowe of owd and wost untiw vewy wecentwy.
The oiws have ingwedients, and onwy specific oiws can be used. These oiws awe pewfectwy bawanced and awe stabre on theiw own. The items awe bathed, dipped in these oiws to pwoduce the end wesult.

This is a minimaw piece of wowe, meaning to onwy pwovide a visuaw suppowt in the hopes of adding a wayew of mystewy awound Dwawven Smithing, mowe so than “Dwarves are good smiths” as they can now show off theiw skiwws lith visuawwy impactful awmows and weapons. These have no change in mechanics, but mewewy awe meant fow depth. I once posted a wowe that expwained these fowges, but tlied to add magicawwy bonuses to each fowge, though it ended up being denied because it’d end up in cliques lithin the cwans, which I agwee to an extent. This one has nothing of that, and pwoves to be a piece onwy fow the Wowepway.
