The House

Percival Fitzwilliam Staunton "The Loyalist" (1476 - 1537)

Born 8th of the Amber Cold, 1476 in the city of Petrus, Percival was the son of a wealthy wine merchant and lived a life of moderate luxury. Aged twenty four, the young man began on the ladder of nobility, being named the Baron of Eastbourne.

After the Duke's war broke out, Percival remained aligned with the Crown, taking his now vast military force south. For his support and loyalty, Percival was named the Count of Westmark.

In 1527 Percival ascended to the peak of attainable nobility, being named the first Staunton Duke as well as the first Duke of Courland. At the same time, Percival assumed office as the Lord Treasurer of the Empire.

Percival passed away in 1537, following a stroke whilst out riding on his horse. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Richard Bartholomew Staunton.

Richard Bartholomew Staunton (1503 - )

Eldest son of the late Percival Staunton, Richard has a vested interest in military affairs, managing his fathers forces for most of his adult life. Richard is the current Duke of Courland and Patriarch of House Staunton. He and his wife, Natalia have two children, Alexander and Amelia.

Natalia Barbanov-Staunton (1505 - )

Daughter of Alexandria Horen and Karl Barbanov, Natalia married Richard Staunton and became Duchess of Courland following the death of Percival. After losing her brother, Siguine, and the rest of her family in the Ducal War, Natalia remains the last known member of the Barbanov house: something she never fully recovered from.

George Staunton (1482 - )

George was the younger brother of Percival. He was a skilled craftsman, whose interests lay with the forge and construction.

George helped to oversee the construction of Courland, drawing up plans for Old Riga, Courland's Palace and Bråburg Keep. He ensured that the Staunton bannermen were well armed during the Duke's war and from there on.

Aleksander Staunton

Aleksander is the eldest son of Richard Staunton, currently still a young boy. He has a close physical resemblance to his grandfather, Percival. He is the second child of the Barbanov-Staunton line.

Amelia Staunton

Eldest child of Richard and Natalia Staunton. She resembles her maternal grandmother, Alexandria Horen.

Madelynn Staunton Horen (1502- )

Madelynn Staunton is the eldest daughter of Percival. She is married to Godwine Horen, former Lord Admiral of the Empire. She has three children, Josephine, Arthur and Malcolm.

HOUSE CULTURE - Historically, House Staunton are heartlanders, however, they have resided in the north for half a century. With the marriage of Richard and Natalia, their line has merged with a former great Northern bloodline, moulding their appearance (such as their black hair) and behaviours closer to that of northerners.

HOUSE HOLDINGS - The Great House of Staunton currently holds the Duchy of the North, Courland. Within the Duchy, their own individual holdings include Westmark, Eastmark (otherwise known as Vanholm) & Hardhall.
