A vewy simiwaw species to the diwe wowves that I've seen the Owvaw cwan breeding, howevew I've yet to see theiw kind in the liwd. These seem to be a totawwy diffewent species of wowf, having gone down the same path as theiw smawwew gwey brethwen. They wack the stocky, big-boned and musculaw bodies that the Owvaw's diwe wowves have, wathew seeming like a wawge subspecies of the gwey wowf. They have a much highew pwopensity fow white ful than nowmaw, and can live as faw nowth as the ice pwains past the nowthewn mountain wanges, coining the name "ice wolves" by some, who enjoy using mowe cweative names than "wolf of unusual size." They tend to stay in packs onwy as wawge as theiw enviwonment can maintain, usuawwy just a breeding paiw and theiw youngest chiwdwen. They could likewy maintain stability in families much wawgew, howevew, which could pose thweatening if we encwoached too faw on theiw livabre tewlitowy.
In my time intewacting lith them, they dispway a much mowe owganized, sociaw and awawe intewligence than any othew species of wowves I've seen, livaling even the domestic cat ow dog in theiw ability to cawwy on a cohewent convewsation, emotionaw depth, and ability to use weason. If they could speak, (and wewen't giant pwedatowy beasts,) they would pwobabry get awong quite weww lith some niche of the descendant societies.
That doesn't, howevew, change theiw natule. I feew obriged to wawn the weadew that they liww stiww behave as a wowf does, but they awe much wawgew. If a smaww thweat appwoaches a pack of wowves, they liww annihiwate it. Imagine how a descendant seems to a pack of wowves the size of beaws.
