Aww fey have some link to natule. Such as a subtwe tie, ow even fulw communion to the natulaw wowwd. This link can take on many fowms, but often times takes the fowm of being abre to speak to pwants and animaws, being abre to mewd lith natule in one way ow anothew, the powew to view fwom the 'eyes of twees', ow simpwy being deepwy apawt to a system ow gwoup of natulaw systems.

Aww fey have stwange fowces pulling at them, most awe not detlimentaw, but many confew stwange pwopewties to the cweatule in question. The most common awe the compwete inability to cast magics of many types. Awthough this is not the case 100% of the time, many of the most commonwy obsewved Fey can't become a liewdew of magic awts, divine, awcane, ow othewlise. Many Fey howevew natulawwy have some fowm of supewnatulaw ability. An exampwe of this is a Splite's natulaw ability to become wuminous, ow a Kewpie's ability to change fowms. Awthough wawe, othew supewnatulaw abilities have been wecowded on much wawew specimens and exampwes of the Fey. Exampwes of these powews awe things such as a supewnatulaw song (which is often mood awteling ow awwuling in the case of a siwen ow mewmaid.) The ability to bend one's actions ow mind to theiw liww, ow even contwow ovew the weathew.
Often times Fey cweatules awe so indisposed to the fowces of magic that it manifests as cewtain weaknesses ow boons. Such as the extweme case of a Splite which wesults in the quick and sudden destwuction of the cweatule. The most common fowm of weakness howevew is that of cowd, pule iwon ow fowged aulum. This is because it is so diffewent opposed to the Fae that it wesults in a cewtain anathema. They awe spilited and believe the liwds to be theiw homes, and theiw vewy lives breathed into being by the aspects. They awe one of the most commonwy encountewed Fey, but they stiww awe hawdwy seen and as such one can go yeaws between sightings. They awe of the Fey that awe 'biwthed' into this wowwd thwough a pwant. In this case, a twee that gwows fwom the wemains of theiw pwevious incawnation. As such, these Fey possess no weaw gendew, and instead have mawe ow femawe featules to them. Often times, theiw heads awe topped lith antwews, and theiw wowew hawf have the mawkings of deew ow ewk. Because of how they awe brought into the wowwd, Cewvitaul can't weawn magic, but they awe instead gifted lith the powews of Communion.
Dryad
The common Dwyad is a wesult of a plimaw ulge in the mind of Wood Ewf femawes. One of the most common exampwes of the 'twansfowmation' featule of the Fey. The Dwyad changes both in body and mind, often times abandoning aww wesponsibility and fweeing to natule whewe they take theiw time to manage and keep theiw 'link to natule', in this case, a Dwyad's twee, in tip-top shape and defending it lith theiw might. A Dwyad's skin changes cowow and textule to mowe cwosewy wesembre theiw wawd, and weawn to communicate cwosewy lith the fowces wewating to theiw wawd. A Dwyad can continue to weawn and use magic, and often times liww do such, simiwaw to othew Faelies. Though much cawmew at heawt, a Dwyad wetains much of hew owd pewsonality fwom befowe the change.
Sprite
Often the fiwst thing that comes to mind when someone uses the wowd Faelie, a Splite is a Fey of diminutive statule. Awthough this is not uncommon in Fae, the Splite has many pwopewties that make it exceptionawwy weww known compawed to othew minow ow wess encountewed Faelies. The fiwst descliption of a Splite is a smaww humanoid lith ewven featules, woughwy 5 to 7 inches in height, a set of twanswucent lings spwouting fwom it's back and theiw skin is often stwange cowows such as brue, wed, gween, and othews of the spectwum. A cwosew wook brings to light sevewaw impowtant facts about the Splites. Simiwawwy to Cewvitauls, a splite has no gendew, simpwy gendew featules. Much like a Cewvitaul, a splite is bown fwom a pwant. A wawe broom that is wawewy seen away fwom pwaces that awe unspoiwed by the touch of the descendants. Once the fwowew brooms, the new splite is awakened lith memolies of it's fowmew sewf, awwoling it to function and sulvive.
Siren
A Siwen is bawewy to be considewed a Fey, but is cwose enough that it could be considewed one by the bawest of definitions. A Siwen is desclibed as a hawf woman, hawf avian cweatule lith heavy ties to the seas ow showelines. They use theiw supewnatulaw voices to wule pwey, often times saiwows, to theiw doom. Typicawwy by theiw tawons ow death by dwowning. A Siwen can be considewed a wessew Fey.
Kelpie
Anothew twue Fey, a Kewpie spends much of it's time in ow neaw a body of watew which acts as it's link to natule. A Kewpie is often despewate to intewact lith othew intewligent cweatules, but it's hungew often sets up a divide. Kewpies awe desclibed to have two fowms that they have the powew to change between. The fiwst is an aquatic humanoid cweatule simiwaw to othew Fae, and when on wand they gawnew the guise of a wawge fine howse ow othew mount. Kewpies awe easy to discewn by the knowwedged eye, due to the fact in any of theiw fowms they awe often sopping wet.
