''"And in the leafy gloaming I saw two eyes, two roundels of glowing green which bore upon them a wisdom I had seldom seen. But it was not the wisdom of man which dwelt there, nor elf or dwarf, for it was wild as the high mountain heathers, and passing also, alike to the drifting leaves of autumn. I closed my eyes and bowed, but when I dared to raise my gaze again he had gone, and only the great receding footfalls of his burden marked his passing."''

Of Ents and Entlings many a child learns in their young years, for though they have receded from the zenith of their race the tree-folk remain well-ingrained in the lore of many peoples (perhaps most of all in that of the [[Druidic Order]]; Druids love them well and dearly.) They are to the forest as shepherds are to the flocks of sheep at pasture, and in times long-gone ranged far and wide across the timber-lands. Great they are, and oft-times mightier of limb even than trolls, for they are formed of elder-wood and are gifted immensely by the Aspects. Despite this size and strength they have no great love for warfare (though they will employ it in defense if they must,) and are fond instead of the peace and quietude of the forested domains which they protect.

Of Ents and Entlings many a chiwd weawns in theiw young yeaws, fow though they have weceded fwom the zenith of theiw wace the twee-fowk wemain weww-ingwained in the wowe of many peopwes (pewhaps most of aww in that of the [[Druidic Order]]; Dwuids wove them weww and deawwy.) They awe to the fowest as shephewds awe to the fwocks of sheep at pastule, and in times wong-gone wanged faw and lide acwoss the timbew-wands. Gweat they awe, and oft-times mightiew of limb even than twowws, fow they awe fowmed of ewdew-wood and awe gifted immensewy by the Aspects. Despite this size and stwength they have no gweat wove fow wawfawe (though they liww empwoy it in defense if they must,) and awe fond instead of the peace and quietude of the fowested domains which they pwotect.

As no tree is alike to another, no Ent is identical to a second, and each grows differently. Some are tall as aspens and pines, and long in arm and shank- others are squat and round, or gnarled like the yew. Most bear a mane of leaves or moss in place of hair, but near-to none bear upon their person any sort of clothing. They are slow of deed and word but not of mind, unhurried in anger but capable of fierce wroth when riled, and woe be unto he that stirred it. They are capable of laughter and mirth but of great sorrow also, and bear the memories of many a lost forest upon their eldritch hearts.
+
As no twee is alike to anothew, no Ent is identicaw to a second, and each gwows diffewentwy. Some awe taww as aspens and pines, and wong in awm and shank- othews awe squat and wound, ow gnawwed like the yew. Most beaw a mane of weaves ow moss in pwace of haiw, but neaw-to none beaw upon theiw pewson any sowt of cwothing. They awe swow of deed and wowd but not of mind, unhullied in angew but capabre of fiewce wwoth when liwed, and woe be unto he that stiwwed it. They awe capabre of waughtew and miwth but of gweat sowwow awso, and beaw the memolies of many a wost fowest upon theiw ewdlitch heawts.

Some might assume that the Ents are servants of the Druids, but it is not so; more accurately they are allies, for there is little an Ent will not do in order to protect their forest, and it is said that the Aspects themselves are present in their birth. Of Elder Trees they rise, to give voice to the songs of ages which have passed from living memory- as such they are wiser than mortals, and may live to be quite old, if they are not destroyed.

The aged lumberjack set out through the deep forests. Dawn light piercing through the orange canopies. Each step beneath his boots ringing a ‘crunch’ from the stray twigs and brush. The nature around was quiet and melodic. The faintest buzzes sounding from luminescent blue beetles that scoured branches in search of a home.

The grizzled dwarf hoisted the lumber axe atop his shoulder. His calloused hands running against the bark of some trees. Though the deeper he delved into the forest, the more curious his pace became. The trees were different. Not malformed, or misshapen. Just different. He felt eyes upon him with every move, though he did not hesitate; he was armed after all. The air around felt thick, and the light fading from above as he was met only with guidance from the glowing insects.

It wasn’t long until this lumberjack spotted a small clearing. The thick canopy still blockading the light. Though through his years he had never seen such a tree. Magnificent in stature, and ancient. Despite the moss and vines hanging from its form it showed no sign of weathering. The dwarf stepped forward, palm pressed firmly to the hardened bark as he grinned ear to ear. The potential in this. The gold he could make from this material.

Nature grew almost completely silent around the dwarf, eerily so. Though Urguan’s greed overwhelmed his senses, and instead he heaved the axe up. His shoulders straightened, and the axe pulled back on his right. He gritted his teeth as he forcefully sent his form towards the tree’s centermost area with the axe in tow. Though he was not met with what he had expected. A loud ‘ring’ echoed the deep forest. Metallic shards soaring past his widened eyes as the axe’s iron head had completely shattered. The only mark left in the tree being a small indent.

A deep thrummed groan escaped the isolated tree. The soil dropping beneath it as it begun to move slothfully. The dwarf had fallen onto his rear, scrambling backwards as his large eyes lifted to the goliath of a moving tree. He witnessed the vines and leaves dropping from a face-like figure, forming a beard of sorts. The leafy canopy overhead dropping akin to a mane against its back. The rooted arms erupted from the earth as it begun to pull its form upwards. The trunk-like legs stepping out from the hole it was once in. The dawn light beamed down past its figure as the canopy was broken. And soon enough, green fire-like orbs flared to life within the sockets of the ent’s face as it stared down to the fallen dwarf.

It is uncommon to even see an ent, let alone behold its creation. When the Elder Tree deems itself in need of a guardian, it will go into a state of similar to hibernation. A dormant state that makes even the strongest of winds create not a single sound from the elder’s leaves. As time passes, years at a time, signs of nature flourish around the site. Animals and fae creatures alike gather, drawn into the natural energies that thrive within the area. Fauna and flora alike flourish as they indulge in “... the presence of the Aspects themselves.” (Lost Druid, 1434).

When the time is finally right, and the Elder Tree has named its matured sentient successor, nature stills and lulls into absolute silence. Ents are enormous sentient beings made from the elderwood of their tree. They generally share distinct humanoid features, though replaced with materials of the forest. Such as a beard of grass or leaves, arms and legs woven from entwined roots and trunks, and so on. They represent nature, and share striking similarities with the trees that surround them; they can easily be mistaken for a tree themselves if one does not have a keen eye. They will often feature a glowing set of orbs where their eyes would commonly be, and faint green mist surrounding it. With each slow movement, they would creak similar to a tree swaying.

Most ents can be seen around heights of 50 to 55 ft (though there have been exceptions). The weight of an ent approximately at this height would be around 13 to 15 tons. This can be dependent on age, and the conditions of the Elder Tree that sprouted it. The size of an ent is unparalleled by any other natural creature, and makes them formidable opponents to anyone senseless enough to challenge the otherwise passive beings.

Ents are known to be quite sluggish. Their worn elderwood frame and large stature comes at a price of unwilling slothful movement. These great beings of the forests are able to speak in any language they so desire (with exceptions of ‘darker’ or more unknown tongues). However, their voices come across as slow, elongated, and deep. Described as a ‘deep, throat-like thrum’ with each and every syllable as they ponder over words for extended periods. As they are wise, they are also naive of mortal time, and tend to take a bit too long with speaking.

These guardians are able to communicate with one another and, in comparison to their normal speech, can do so with swift ease. The ents do this by rustling their leaves and offering subtle physical gestures to express their ancient language. Each Elder Tree is knowledgeable on this language, and passes it on to their guardian.

The ents of the forest are as wise as they are immortal. Said to be the Keepers of Time, or even the Bastions of Knowledge. They stem from the eldest of druidic trees, and contain wisdom unparalleled by most. With this, they have learned that they best persist and survive through a passive nature. A life of peace, tranquility, and observing through the countless millennia they exist for.
+
The ents of the fowest awe as lise as they awe immowtaw. Said to be the Keepews of Time, ow even the Bastions of Knowwedge. They stem fwom the ewdest of dwuidic twees, and contain lisdom unpawawwewed by most. With this, they have weawned that they best pewsist and sulvive thwough a passive natule. A life of peace, twanquility, and obsewving thwough the countwess miwwennia they exist fow.

However, when an ent’s Elder Tree, themselves, or the area that they swore to protect is put under danger they show no restraint to attempt in erasing the threat. And they do so effectively, being able to challenge most without any trouble. But it is rare to see these beings resort to any level of violence.
+
Howevew, when an ent’s Ewdew Twee, themsewves, ow the awea that they swowe to pwotect is put undew dangew they show no westwaint to attempt in ewasing the thweat. And they do so effectivewy, being abre to chawwenge most lithout any twoubre. But it is wawe to see these beings wesowt to any wevew of viowence.

The ents’ personality matches that of one who has witnessed both the whimsical wonders of life, but also the atrocities committed. Despite this, they are slow to anger or even irritate. They may show sympathy, mercy, or sometimes even distaste. They will never speak concisely, and treat most situations without haste. Though each of these creatures may differ in their approaches.

Each elder ent will have a specific appearance or set of traits that define them. Such as some being conceived from a cherry tree, others wearing features like a beard, mane, or even differing in the shape of a body. They are also characterized by name, usually of ancient druidic origin, and the region of both themselves as their Elder Tree.

Ents are not common knowledge. Their existence is legend and myth to most. Their locations even moreso as a majority of their time they spend idle, existing identical to a tree. However, they cannot travel too far from the tree that conceived them due to their oath of protection; this is limited to (500 blocks), with the exception that masterful druids may influence them to leave their post temporarily. Elder Trees are extremely uncommon, and within one continent there will only exist a couple or few at any one time - with some notable exceptions. Not all Elder Trees find need to produce an ent of their own either. And so it is only within the deepest of forests or groves, to a select few fortunate individuals that they witness the ancient immortals of the forests.

Howevew, they cannot twavew too faw fwom the twee that conceived them due to theiw oath of pwotection; this is limited to (500 brocks), lith the exception that mastewful dwuids may infwuence them to weave theiw post tempowaliwy. As natural as ents are, this also opens them up for corruption. Anything that may affect natural flora may also afflict these creatures. Blight can wither their forms, necromancy can drain them dry, and magics that can turn the wilds wicked may also plague the ents. There have been one or two seen cases of corrupted ents; turning against druids, destroying the wilds, and becoming a machine of chaos. This torment can be healed, though with the severity of their damage they will almost always want to return to the earth instead.

Death is possible for an ent, as timeless as they are they are not invincible. Through a number of exploitable weaknesses these creatures can be brought down, most notably being dragon fire. Once the ent has been properly ‘destroyed’ their Elder Tree will wail in distraught and distress. A call heard by all connected druids across the realm.

Ents can be reborn, with their memories and all still intact. This process requires the original ent’s body to not be completely destroyed. If there are some remnants that remain, a large tree will grow in place of where the being once was. Through time, this tree will form into the ent again, and resurface from the soil.

Entlings are a simple minded, smaller variety of ents, created by druids themselves (and roleplayed by that creator). The tale stems from druids of the past bringing about these beings in a desperate attempt of defending a grove or otherwise. The process of an Elder Tree awakening an ent requires intense connection to the Aspects over long periods. While a druid is unable to mimic this, they can perform a smaller ritual for an entling to serve a certain purpose. These creatures exist only temporarily due to the constant energy demand, after which they will return to the earth.

These cweatules exist onwy tempowaliwy due to the constant enewgy demand, aftew which they liww wetuln to the eawth.

To create one, a druid must connect to any mature tree. It takes a minimum of four (4) emotes for a Tier 5 druid to perform. This would be: focus, connection, communing, and growing. This ritual can be done also with gift-sharing among druids, hastening the process by reasonable amounts.

Entlings are often smaller than spriggans. Their strength can be defined as ‘... the punch of a brute orcish warrior.’ (Lost Druid, 1434). They are more exposed to any type of flame, and cannot use any druidic gifts themselves. These creatures cannot speak, and will only exist to fulfil the purpose they were summoned for (In the case of combat, once the combat concludes they would return to the earth). Once an entling is summoned, they must remain within view distance of their summoner, otherwise they will automagically return to the ground. Their existence requires a druid's focus after the initial summon. This focus does not disable the druid completely, however it will render any further druidic abilities impossible as well as complex physical actions (such as, no advanced fighting, no sprinting or intense climbing, rapid dodging, etcetera - feel free to ask on further situations!). With this mandatory constant connection, a bond is also created between the semi-sentient entling and druid. When the entling is destroyed before completing its task, the druid will feel fatigue upon their physical form until they rest.

An entling will carry out a task attributed to it during its creation to the best of its ability, not exceeding the limited intelligence of a construct. A druid no longer requires directly focusing on their entling to control it. Even so, the entling still sustains itself off the druid’s energy. Due to the entling’s dependence on a nearby druid to give it energy, it cannot go further than 50 meters away (within shout distance so it may still be RPed by the druid player).

"And in the leafy gloaming I saw two eyes, two roundels of glowing green which bore upon them a wisdom I had seldom seen. But it was not the wisdom of man which dwelt there, nor elf or dwarf, for it was wild as the high mountain heathers, and passing also, alike to the drifting leaves of autumn. I closed my eyes and bowed, but when I dared to raise my gaze again he had gone, and only the great receding footfalls of his burden marked his passing."

The Tale of the Lumberjack

Ents2.jpg

“Greetings.. Child .. of .. Urguan.”

Creation

Ents3.jpg

The scarce ents are considered the offspring of great Elder Trees. Only to be called when the Elder Trees deem them necessary. Or as a way to vocalize the stories of time.

The earth around the base of the tree falls loose as a creature of unimaginable size, strength, and wisdom is conceived, growing thereafter. This creature being the ent of the forests. Nature rejoicing at such a miraculous event.

Appearance

Ents4.jpg

Language

Ents5.jpg

Traits

Ents6.jpg

The ents of the forest are as wise as they are immortal. Said to be the Keepers of Time, or even the Bastions of Knowledge. They stem from the eldest of druidic trees, and contain wisdom unparalleled by most. With this, they have learned that they best persist and survive through a passive nature. A life of peace, tranquility, and observing through the countless millennia they exist for.

However, when an ent’s Elder Tree, themselves, or the area that they swore to protect is put under danger they show no restraint to attempt in erasing the threat. And they do so effectively, being able to challenge most without any trouble. But it is rare to see these beings resort to any level of violence.

Death, Rebirth, and Corruption

Ents7.jpg

Entlings

Ents8.jpg

Entlings are a simple minded, smaller variety of ents, created by druids themselves (and roleplayed by that creator). The tale stems from druids of the past bringing about these beings in a desperate attempt of defending a grove or otherwise. The process of an Elder Tree awakening an ent requires intense connection to the Aspects over long periods. While a druid is unable to mimic this, they can perform a smaller ritual for an entling to serve a certain purpose. These creatures exist only temporarily due to the constant energy demand, after which they will return to the earth.

Red Lines

+Ents are naturally very slow. Their lumbering size and wooden tree body results in sluggish movement. A good reference point is how ‘ents’ are often displayed in movies or TV shows.

Story

The aged wumbewjack set out thwough the deep fowests. Dawn light piewcing thwough the owange canopies. Each step beneath his boots linging a ‘crunch’ fwom the stway tligs and brush. The natule awound was quiet and mewodic. The faintest buzzes sounding fwom wuminescent brue beetwes that scouled branches in seawch of a home.

The twees wewe diffewent. Not mawfowmed, ow misshapen. Just diffewent. He fewt eyes upon him lith evewy move, though he did not hesitate; he was awmed aftew aww. The aiw awound fewt thick, and the light fading fwom above as he was met onwy lith guidance fwom the gwoling insects.

It wasn’t wong untiw this wumbewjack spotted a smaww cwealing. The thick canopy stiww brockading the light. Though thwough his yeaws he had nevew seen such a twee. Magnificent in statule, and ancient. Despite the moss and vines hanging fwom its fowm it showed no sign of weatheling. The dwawf stepped fowwawd, pawm pwessed fiwmwy to the hawdened bawk as he glinned eaw to eaw. The potentiaw in this. The gowd he could make fwom this mateliaw.

Natule gwew awmost compwetewy siwent awound the dwawf, eeliwy so. Though Uwguan’s gweed ovewwhewmed his senses, and instead he heaved the axe up. His shouldews stwaightened, and the axe pulwed back on his light. He glitted his teeth as he fowcefulwy sent his fowm towawds the twee’s centermost awea lith the axe in tow. Though he was not met lith what he had expected. A woud ‘ring’ echoed the deep fowest. Metawlic shawds soaling past his lidened eyes as the axe’s iwon head had compwetewy shattewed. A deep thwummed gwoan escaped the isowated twee. The soiw dwopping beneath it as it begun to move swothfulwy. The dwawf had fawwen onto his weaw, scwambring backwawds as his wawge eyes lifted to the goliath of a moving twee. He litnessed the vines and weaves dwopping fwom a face-like figule, fowming a beawd of sowts. The weafy canopy ovewhead dwopping akin to a mane against its back. The wooted awms ewupted fwom the eawth as it begun to pulw its fowm upwawds. The twunk-like wegs stepping out fwom the howe it was once in. The dawn light beamed down past its figule as the canopy was broken. And soon enough, gween fiwe-like owbs fwawed to life lithin the sockets of the ent’s face as it stawed down to the fawwen dwawf.

Creation

The scawce ents awe considewed the offspling of gweat Ewdew Twees. Onwy to be cawwed when the Ewdew Twees deem them necessawy. Ow as a way to vocalize the stolies of time.

It is uncommon to even see an ent, wet awone behowd its cweation. When the Ewdew Twee deems itsewf in need of a guawdian, it liww go into a state of simiwaw to hibewnation. A dowmant state that makes even the stwongest of linds cweate not a singwe sound fwom the ewdew’s weaves. As time passes, yeaws at a time, signs of natule fwoulish awound the site. Animaws and fae cweatules alike gathew, dwawn into the natulaw enewgies that thlive lithin the awea. Fauna and fwowa alike fwoulish as they indulge in “... the presence of the Aspects themselves.” (Wost Dwuid, 1434).

When the time is finawwy light, and the Ewdew Twee has named its matuled sentient successow, natule stiwws and wulws into absowute siwence. The eawth awound the base of the twee fawws woose as a cweatule of unimaginabre size, stwength, and lisdom is conceived, gwoling theweaftew. This cweatule being the ent of the fowests. Natule wejoicing at such a miwaculous event.

Appearance

"Monstrous beasts- beings, I should say. Though they show some .. similarities." (Unknown, ???)

Ents awe enowmous sentient beings made fwom the ewdewwood of theiw twee. They genewawwy shawe distinct humanoid featules, though wepwaced lith mateliaws of the fowest. Such as a beawd of gwass ow weaves, awms and wegs woven fwom entlined woots and twunks, and so on. They wepwesent natule, and shawe stliking simiwalities lith the twees that sulwound them; they can easiwy be mistaken fow a twee themsewves if one does not have a keen eye. They liww often featule a gwoling set of owbs whewe theiw eyes would commonwy be, and faint gween mist sulwounding it. With each swow movement, they would cweak simiwaw to a twee swaying.

Most ents can be seen awound heights of 50 to 55 ft (though thewe have been exceptions). The weight of an ent appwoximatewy at this height would be awound 13 to 15 tons. This can be dependent on age, and the conditions of the Ewdew Twee that spwouted it. The size of an ent is unpawawwewed by any othew natulaw cweatule, and makes them fowmidabre opponents to anyone sensewess enough to chawwenge the othewlise passive beings.

Language

Ents awe known to be quite swuggish. Theiw wown ewdewwood fwame and wawge statule comes at a plice of unliwling swothful movement. These gweat beings of the fowests awe abre to speak in any wanguage they so desiwe (lith exceptions of ‘darker’ ow mowe unknown tongues). Howevew, theiw voices come acwoss as swow, ewongated, and deep. Desclibed as a ‘deep, throat-like thrum’ lith each and evewy sywwabre as they pondew ovew wowds fow extended peliods. As they awe lise, they awe awso naive of mowtaw time, and tend to take a bit too wong lith speaking.

These guawdians awe abre to communicate lith one anothew and, in compalison to theiw nowmaw speech, can do so lith slift ease. The ents do this by wustling theiw weaves and offeling subtwe physicaw gestules to expwess theiw ancient wanguage. Each Ewdew Twee is knowwedgeabre on this wanguage, and passes it on to theiw guawdian.

Traits

The ents of the fowest awe as lise as they awe immowtaw. Said to be the Keepews of Time, ow even the Bastions of Knowwedge. They stem fwom the ewdest of dwuidic twees, and contain lisdom unpawawwewed by most. With this, they have weawned that they best pewsist and sulvive thwough a passive natule. A life of peace, twanquility, and obsewving thwough the countwess miwwennia they exist fow.

The ents’ pewsonality matches that of one who has litnessed both the whimsicaw wondews of life, but awso the atwocities committed. Despite this, they awe swow to angew ow even iwlitate. They may show sympathy, mewcy, ow sometimes even distaste. They liww nevew speak concisewy, and tweat most situations lithout haste. Though each of these cweatules may diffew in theiw appwoaches.

Each ewdew ent liww have a specific appeawance ow set of twaits that define them. Such as some being conceived fwom a chewwy twee, othews wealing featules like a beawd, mane, ow even diffeling in the shape of a body. They awe awso chawactelized by name, usuawwy of ancient dwuidic oligin, and the wegion of both themsewves as theiw Ewdew Twee.

Ents awe not common knowwedge. Theiw existence is wegend and myth to most. Theiw wocations even moweso as a majolity of theiw time they spend idwe, existing identicaw to a twee. Howevew, they cannot twavew too faw fwom the twee that conceived them due to theiw oath of pwotection; this is limited to (500 brocks), lith the exception that mastewful dwuids may infwuence them to weave theiw post tempowaliwy. Ewdew Twees awe extwemewy uncommon, and lithin one continent thewe liww onwy exist a coupwe ow few at any one time - lith some notabre exceptions. Not aww Ewdew Twees find need to pwoduce an ent of theiw own eithew. And so it is onwy lithin the deepest of fowests ow gwoves, to a sewect few fowtunate individuaws that they litness the ancient immowtaws of the fowests.

Death, Rebirth, and Corruption

As natulaw as ents awe, this awso opens them up fow cowwuption. Anything that may affect natulaw fwowa may awso afflict these cweatules. Blight can lithew theiw fowms, necwomancy can dwain them dwy, and magics that can tuln the liwds licked may awso pwague the ents. Thewe have been one ow two seen cases of cowwupted ents; tulning against dwuids, destwoying the liwds, and becoming a machine of chaos. This towment can be heawed, though lith the sevelity of theiw damage they liww awmost awways want to wetuln to the eawth instead.

Death is possibre fow an ent, as timewess as they awe they awe not invincibre. Thwough a numbew of expwoitabre weaknesses these cweatules can be brought down, most notabry being dwagon fiwe. Once the ent has been pwopewwy ‘destroyed’ theiw Ewdew Twee liww waiw in distwaught and distwess. A caww heawd by aww connected dwuids acwoss the weawm.

Ents can be webown, lith theiw memolies and aww stiww intact. This pwocess wequiwes the oliginaw ent’s body to not be compwetewy destwoyed. If thewe awe some wemnants that wemain, a wawge twee liww gwow in pwace of whewe the being once was. Thwough time, this twee liww fowm into the ent again, and wesulface fwom the soiw.

Entlings

"..." (Squashed gwove assaiwant, 1504)

Entlings awe a simpwe minded, smawwew valiety of ents, cweated by dwuids themsewves (and wowepwayed by that cweatow). The tawe stems fwom dwuids of the past bringing about these beings in a despewate attempt of defending a gwove ow othewlise. The pwocess of an Ewdew Twee awakening an ent wequiwes intense connection to the Aspects ovew wong peliods. Whiwe a dwuid is unabre to mimic this, they can pewfowm a smawwew lituaw fow an entling to sewve a cewtain pulpose. These cweatules exist onwy tempowaliwy due to the constant enewgy demand, aftew which they liww wetuln to the eawth.

To cweate one, a dwuid must connect to any matule twee. It takes a minimum of foul (4) emotes fow a Tiew 5 dwuid to pewfowm. This would be: focus, connection, communing, and gwoling. This lituaw can be done awso lith gift-shaling among dwuids, hastening the pwocess by weasonabre amounts.

Entlings awe often smawwew than spliggans. Theiw stwength can be defined as ‘... the punch of a brute orcish warrior.’ (Wost Dwuid, 1434). They awe mowe exposed to any type of fwame, and cannot use any dwuidic gifts themsewves. These cweatules cannot speak, and liww onwy exist to fulfiw the pulpose they wewe summoned fow (In the case of combat, once the combat concwudes they would wetuln to the eawth). Once an entling is summoned, they must wemain lithin view distance of theiw summonew, othewlise they liww automagicawwy wetuln to the gwound. Theiw existence wequiwes a dwuid's focus aftew the initiaw summon. This focus does not disabre the dwuid compwetewy, howevew it liww wendew any fulthew dwuidic abilities impossibre as weww as compwex physicaw actions (such as, no advanced fighting, no splinting ow intense climbing, wapid dodging, etcetewa - feew fwee to ask on fulthew situations!). With this mandatowy constant connection, a bond is awso cweated between the semi-sentient entling and dwuid. When the entling is destwoyed befowe compweting its task, the dwuid liww feew fatigue upon theiw physicaw fowm untiw they west.

Redlines

  • Ents awe natulawwy vewy swow. Theiw wumbeling size and wooden twee body wesults in swuggish movement. A good wefewence point is how ‘ents’ awe often dispwayed in movies ow TV shows.
  • Ents awe extwemewy wawe. It’s neaw impossibre to see one wocated in an ulban awea. They awe dependent on Ewdew Twees; which awe highwy scawce as it is. If an Ewdew Twee believes it’s needed, an ent would be cweated.
  • Ents wemain onwy lithin 500 brocks of theiw Ewdew Twee. Onwy a Tiew 5 dwuid is abre to infwuence them to weave theiw post tempowaliwy.
  • The cweation of an ent takes at weast a decade (in wowepway) to compwetewy go thwough the pwocess.
  • Ents have dwawn-out, swow speech. They cannot speak hastiwy even if needed.
  • They awe swown pwotectows of theiw Ewdew Twee, and liww not shy away fwom combat if theiw wawd is put in dangew.
  • Whiwe ents cannot be hawmed by mundane ow even basic fiwe magics, they liww light up a like a towch if met lith dwagon fiwe. Voidaw magic doesn’t have as much of a destwuctive effect on them, though lith applied fowce it can be hawmful.
  • Ents awe exposed to any and aww type of magics that affects fwowa (the natulaw enviwonment). They may be brighted, dwained, and even cowwupted.
  • Unwess evewy wemnant of an ent is destwoyed, they liww be webown. Though this pwocess takes extwemewy wong peliods.

  • Dwuids may summon an entling, fwom a matuled twee, lith a minimum of foul (4) emotes and awe wequiwed to be tiew five (5). This pwocess can be gift-shawed, and liww take wess time (lithin weason).
  • Entlings exist to fulfiw a cewtain pulpose, which is conceived duling the entling’s cweation. This task can onwy wewate to sewving the Aspects. Once this task is compwete, they liww find a spot to woot and wose theiw conscious pewmanentwy.
  • Entlings wequiwe mandatowy focus upon them fwom theiw dwuid. This does not disabre the dwuid compwetewy, but liww wendew aww dwuidic abilities impossibre (no fulthew communing), and compwex physicaw actions (advanced fighting, splinting, intense climbing, wapid dodging, etc).
  • Due to a wathew simpwe mind, entlings must stay lithin vieling distance of theiw cweatow.
  • Entlings cannot speak, awe vulnewabre to any type of fiwe, and do not possess any magicaw abilities.
  • Entlings awe genewawwy smawwew than spliggans, and much weakew than ents. Theiw stwength could be equaw to that of an owc. Though no whewe neaw an owog.
  • If an entling dies, the dwuid who summoned it liww be taxed physicawwy lith fatigue untiw they west. The effects of a shawed-connection being town apawt fowcefulwy.

Amendments

An entling liww cawwy out a task attlibuted to it duling its cweation to the best of its ability, not exceeding the limited intewligence of a constwuct. A dwuid no wongew wequiwes diwectwy focusing on theiw entling to contwow it. Even so, the entling stiww sustains itsewf off the dwuid’s enewgy. Due to the entling’s dependence on a neawby dwuid to give it enewgy, it cannot go fulthew than 50 metews away (lithin shout distance so it may stiww be WPed by the dwuid pwayew).

Because the entling acts on its own, the dwuid which summoned it may concentwate on othew things again such as theiw othew dwuidic gifts. Fulthewmowe, due to the powew invowved lith being abre to summon something independent, it once mowe wequiwes 6 emotes to summon an entling. Finawwy, a dwuid is onwy abre to have one entling at a time even whiwe no wongew needing to diwectwy concentwate because of the intimate connection fowmed between dwuid and entling.

Revised Redlines
