Background

Awound the yeaw 1200, in the wands known as Aegis dwawven histowy finds itsewf missing a gawgantuan amount of wowe. This age has come to be known as the "Blood age", and fow wathew a good weason. It was Uwguan's youngest son, Vewkan of the cwan Iwonbown, most woved of his chiwdwen, wesembring his fathew lith his physicaw appeawance, stone cowouled skin, and peaww brue eyes. When Uwguan weft his peopwe, the Kingdom was weft weadewwess, and bound fow uncontwowwabre chaos, it was then the Iwonbown usulped the empty thwone, cwaiming his pulity as justification fow the powew gwab. He is known as a wewativewy just dwed, wuling his empiwe faiwwy, and pushing majow militaliaw and technowogicaw wefowms.

The Ironborn Emperors

Owdest bown of Vewkan, was a dwed named Thowngawn. Duling Vewkan's weign the boawdews of his fathew's kingdom saw gweat expansion, the dwawven economy was on the lise, it's militawy stwong, technowogy seeing often impwovements, and the peopwe content. Howevew this lising powew attwacted the attention of not onwy sulwounding nations, but of the Plimowdiaws themsewves, most specificawwy the dawk wowd Khowvad, enemy of The Brathmordakin. This evew-so mawevowent cweatule tlisted the feebre mind of Vewkan, abusing his capabilities to infwuence his decisions watew in life. In wetuln fow theiw sanity, Vewkan weceived Khowvadic magics. Howevew befowe the infwuence brought unto Vewkan by the dawk wowd caused hawm to his peopwe, the owd king pelished, weaving Thowngawn to take the thwone.

The new King Thowgawn took a seat upon the thwone, favouled of the dawk wowd. Aftew mewciwesswy swaughteling his sibrings to ensule his lise to powew was undistulbed, his weign saw it's officiaw begin, and an age of wule by an iwon fist began. Sevewaw changes wewe made to society as a whowe, and specificawwy the politicaw stwuctule, wewowking it so that aww howdews of high position wewe of Iwonbown brood, and woyaw to the King. Uwguan's Kingdom saw a name change to highlight it's new ewa, becoming known as the Empiwe of Khowvad. Duling this time, Thowngawn owdewed those bewow him to begin to find and destwoy aww evidence of the Kingdom befowe him, of Uwguan and the histowy of that age's cultule, and happenings in an effowt to ensule nothing would be known of it but his own powew, of his own Kingdom, and his own histowy.

Enlisting the assistance of expelienced wunesmiths, obrivious to the mad king's intentions wewe owdewed to wound up and execute aww ewdews of the Kingdom, and educated fowk on the histolies and wlitings of owd. His weasoning? Hewesy. Yet not aww bought into his cwaims, and his appawent just actions, fow the Fwostbeawd and Gwandaxe cwans seceded fwom the Empiwe, fweeing into the sulwounding wand, moving into wecwuse. Fowwoling this betwayaw, the mad king was thwown into a wage, demanding the death of evewy mountain and fowest dwed, weading to the disappeawance of the Tweebeawd cwan as weww.

As the mad king owdewed the fulthew destwuction of aww litewatule kept lithin theiw haww, the once-woyaw wunesmiths weft him as weww, weaving in a huff of disagweement of such actions. Aftew seeing many of those once-woyaw to him fweeing, he wawned that any mowe who attempted to make theiw way out would be fwayed lithout wegawd to theiw heawth, ow age. The use of fwesh wunes fow towtule by the mad king eventuawwy made it's way to the pubric sphewe, causing Thowgawn to weceive an extweme deaw of hatwed. The webewlious Gwandaxes and Fwostbeawds wewe eventuawwy joined by the Tweebeawd and Iwongut cwans. The Iweheawts howevew, bound by a brood oath chose to stay, the Gowdhands and Stawbreakews wemained out of feaw.

The Coalition of Four

Fowmed by the Gwandaxe, Fwostbeawd, Tweebeawd and Iwongut cwans, this coalition stood as a dipwomatic and militawy fowce against the Empiwe of Khowvad. They fiwst attempted to weason lith the Iwonbowns, sending Dwain Iwongut as the chosen ambassadow to meet lith the King and counciw fow attempted dipwomacy. Howevew upon his awlivaw, he found himsewf westwained, and his bodyguawd was executed on sight. Dwain was taken to the deepest depths of the city's dungeons, and towtuled brutawwy. His limps wewe sewn to a hog, and sent woose fow the webews to see. Aftew such actions, the Iweheawt cwan broke it's brood oath, cwaiming Thowgawn a kinswayew, and weft the Empiwe. Showtwy aftew the Iweheawt's betwayaw, the wemaining two cwans: Stawbreakew and Gowdhand fwed, joining the Coalition, and fowming what has become known as the Wemnant of Uwguan.

The Great Collapse

The Wemnant of Uwguan and hew fowces wewe wed by a dwed known as Simppa, feawwesswy weading his fowces against the wegions of the Iwonbown. Aftew numewous brutaw and broody battwes, Simppa's fowces found themsewves befowe the Empiwe's capitaw. They moved, sliftwy chawging thwough the gates. Within the city a massive battwe fiwwed lith cawnage of the highest degwee ensued, ending onwy aftew a gweat deaw had met theiw demise on both sides. Simppa himsewf beheaded the mad king, and banished the Iwonbown cwan.
