And yet he made sure never to put his anger out on her, instead he would join a local militia and go on to serve a distinguished career for nearly ten years before he was wounded in the leg, which wasn't properly treated in time, causing a severe festering, where he was eventually seen by the local physician, who in an attempt to save him amputated his leg. Unfortunately it was too late to save her uncle. He passed away later that day from complications with the amputation.
