Overview

Whether it be a group of Apostates or Templars, followers of the Daemon Alistaer have been around since the Fall of Asulon.

The Templars

A cluster of seers and apostles of the Aspect Aerk'iath that existed in Athera originated under the mysterious guidance of the first Bound One, dubbed the Lord of Carnage and Foresight Kaer'gi.

The Acerbic Ones

A nimble shadow that moves along the roads like the wind, the Templars are a supposed organization that is believed to have existed from the Fall of Asulon but many of his records can be traced back to Aegean time periods as well. Founded on the principal that God is an omnipresent entity that does not think between right nor wrong or the judicial matters in the universe such as justice and wrong doing, it is instead believed that it is an unseen and primal force that spans the entirety of the collective universe.

Distinctions

The Old Gods and the New are both hated, perceived as tyrants as opposed to the common belief that the gods exist to exact justice, the religion is centered on obeying the tenets of Alistaer, the Daemon of Foresight, his mandates have long survived since the world had supposedly begun anew after the First Sin.

The Trinity

The three fatalities, or carnal acts. To commit sin earns punishment from your master, for only he dictates the grievousness of your sin.

  • Pain

Pain is an illusion, and to let it rule you is to give in to fear.

  • Dishonor

To not abide by one's words is atrocious and a wretched sin.

  • Gluttony

To take that which He does not give, to gorge yourself on the labor of others and hungrily eat more than your fair share.

The False Gods

Tahariae - He who gave way to sin and impurity, he wields a sword that should not be his and does as he wishes like a slothful tyrant.

Nemiisae - A goddess who long ago bedded a mortal man named Zanunder to spawn a race of wretched killers and slavers, the beast struck down her husband in his sleep and left her ilk to rot.

Xan - The lion, order. Order holds no place in a world of chaos, and we thrive on change. This god would have us set into our current ways for all of eternity.

Iblees - The Daemon who cast on us our bindings to his foul curses, never again shall we see him rise.

The Envoy

The Daemon Alistaer, in his respective forms as Maliakiith the Warrior and Aerk'iath the scholar. His All-Seeing Eye spans every moment, while the Old Gods seek for our world to bend the knee only he bids that we hold back the heavenly tide. The Creator's acting hand and speaker, he guides us so that we may halt their descent from the heavens. He would see the world purged of godly hegemony, freeing mankind from unseen puppetmasters who would seek only in us their twisted amusement.

The Reign of Mortality

None are better fit to rule the lands of men than mankind itself, the Old Gods and their tyrannical ways once abolished would give way to an age of mortality and invention unparalleled in history. No forgotten gods of ages past, no archaic monoliths of self destructive holy energies, only us and the cosmos.

The Old Gods

Let them fall, the Old Gods and the new.

Aeriel - The Caretaker, the Soul-bender.

Kaerei - Daemoness of Torture, she is Metzli, creator of the despicable Kharajyr.

The Patron: Alistaer

Alistaer -- The Forlorn Lord, the All-Seeing Eye, Elysium and enlightenment are his connotations.

“Daemon of Forethought”

“... It is well known that the gods of our realm hold an affinity for stirring trouble and in a realm stricken with an endless State of War, and it is not unheard of when an AenguDaemon begins to intervene in mortal affairs. Alas, in this day and age such abuse on the part of the gods runs rampant and only the Dark Flame repels them; their zealous aptitude for violence having long distorted the Grand Council of the Seven Skies.”

The First, Second, and Third Sins

Long had the man stared at the night sky to wonder what lurked above in the heavens, and long had the answer remained barred from them. In days of yore a simple Seer had wandered the earth with a scrying orb in hand. Kaer’gi, the supposed wrath of the sun; Aerk’iath’s tenets, he taught, must be upheld lest the world dissolve into endless war and as he went on to gradually explain the sins of the deific and how all godliness must be expunged as to prevent cataclysmic conflicts such as the First Sin and the wars against both the Undead and the Scourge in more recent days.To make matters simple, the Seer claimed that the First Sin was Iblees whereas the Second was both Undead resurgences and the Third the direct intervention of AenguDaemon in mortal affairs. With this revelation, Kaer’gi’s followers basked in his wisdom and so the Seers of Aerk’iath were born and to this day they have wreaked havoc on the Brotherhood of Sacred Light and its various incarnations.

The Mark of the Viper

It is said that Kaer’gi was bestowed with eldritch powers by the Daemon Alistaer, known simply in the Cyniine tongue as ‘the Helper.’ Crimson, the aura of dominance had long been established as a symbol of power and through his runic abilities Kaer’gi bestowed the aura upon his acolytes, it was no gruesome power but instead a simple boon that gave them an identity.

---

It is said that when Kaer’gi was endowed with eldritch powers by the Daemon Alistaer, he poured some of the energy into the first Branding. The Mark simply shifts magic to a red color, as well as a variety of other cosmetic effects that do not strengthen or weaken the Seer or Templar’s arts whether it be Dark or Arcane in origin.

Manifestations

The supposed Daemon manifests as a viper, cobra, or eye. It is incredibly rare for Tayl to manifest as Alistaer but it is known to have happened at least twice in the past three centuries. On the first occasion, he is said to have manifested as a suit of pseudo-Orenian platemail with the crest of both an eye and cobra emblazoned on the tabard.
