Court Mage
Court Mage, sometimes called Sorcerers or Court Magicians, is the title given to a mage who, by way of interview or display, is granted position as a magic adviser to a ruling human ruler or lord. This station is normally held for life, unless otherwise stripped from the individual mage or, in worse circumstances, the ruler they serve is somehow remove. This general duties include advising the ruler or lord on various magical topics, performing demonstrations for the court, instructing courtiers and citizens on magic itself, and sometimes aiding in the regulation of magic within their respective realm.
