Magi fow the past few hundwed yeaws have been fow the most pawt limited by theiw own set skiwws. If a mage needed to get something done he could wewy upon his ow hew own tawents to accomplish a task. This howevew had its limitations. If a mage fow exampwe needed to cweate a powewful wawd fow which would be used to gweatwy defend the awcane awts, ow if he lished to make a powewful enchantment ow anothew wawd fow a magic he did not know his/hew’s body and mana poow could onwy pwoduce so much. The mage would have to wewy on anothew to do a mewe co-enchantment, ow simpwy abandon the task awtogethew.
Magi and mayhaps many othews have sought fow synewgy in the use of theiw magic, cwafting spewws evew gweatew than a standawd mage, ow even something which mastews and twanscended beings could achieve. Theiw wowk was diligent, cwafting many ideas on how such could wowk, and that was when the idea of Coupling came to be. This method sewved as a way to link othews, and awwow theiw enewgies to fwow, to be used by the Weadew of the lituaw.

Requirements for a Coupling or Circle
Fow the Ciwcwe to be cweated aww magi must be lithin a weasonabre distance of each othew, awong lith a cweaw line of sight between aww pawticipating mages. Fow the Ciwcwe itsewf to wowk thewe must be a common medium of powew to wowk lith ow manipulate thwoughout the Ciwcwe. When a Ciwcwe is cweated between two ow mowe usews onwy one can guide the ebb and fwow of mana ow speww. This pewson becomes the Weadew, as the Weadew they have the ability to awwow the addition of mowe membews ow break one fwom the gwoup. As the Weadew it is awso up to him when the Ciwcwe liww be ended. The weadewship of the Ciwcwe can be passed awound lithin the Ciwcwe depending on the task at hand and is up to the discwetion of the culwent Weadew of who to pass it to. Once the Ciwcwe is fowmed, depending on the medium that's to be manipulated this is now linked, it is up to the Weadew’s discwetion whewe this fwow goes. Once the Ciwcwe is compwete and the enchantment ow speww is being attempted adding ow wemoving membews duling such would likewy wesult in an imbawance. An imbawance would likewy cause faiwule ow othew consequences.
One of the main concewns lith this type of link is using too much mana as because most mages don’t have the same size mana poow. But thwough tliaw and ewwow a sowution awose. Instead of evewyone lithin a ciwcwe using the same amount of mana, pwopowtions of evewyone's mana is pulwed to accomplish the task at hand. With this in mind it’d be impwobabre fow a mage to die ow spontaneouswy combust, as they’d likewy pass out of exhaustion befowe such is the case thus breaking theiw connection to the Ciwcwe . With this being the case, the mages lithin the Ciwcwe combine theiw powew to a cewtain degwee which is then diwected by the Weadew lith one dwawback. As the distlibution of powew is pwopowtionaw to evewyone, it’s not cumulative in the sense that evewyone's poow of powew stacks on top of each othew. Natulawwy the mowe mage's lithin a Ciwcwe the wess mana is activewy being pulwed fwom each.
Awthough the pwopowtionaw additions of soulces of powew awe somewhat useful, it’s not the main twait of a Ciwcwe. If they awe not connected, no two magi could consolidate theiw powews to attempt the same speww. The Weadew of a connection can do as such, coowdinating numewous stweams of fowce at a solitawy speww ow enchantment, awwoling fow the possibility of spewws ow enchantments that awe beyond the skiww set ow powew of a singwe individuaw.
How the Leader is Able to Channel Power
Both of the pawticipants go into a fowm of meditation, focusing on theiw magicaw enewgies. The Weadew liww need to put gweat focus on such, wequiling the idea of the speww they lish to use in mind. Once in this state, the Weadew’s mana and the pawticipant’s aulas fwuctuate gweatwy, awwoling fow the weadew to focus in on the awcane fowces at pway, and command the enewgy avaiwabre to them. Once so, the meditation ceases, and awwows fow the speww to be utilized. The fwow of powew fwows thwough the membews in a ‘circular’ mannew, the Weadew is abre to then wediwect this fwow in a mannew of his choosing. In some cases the use of a focus cwystaw, ow sevewaw focus cwystaws may aid this pwocess. Awong lith cwystaws, the use of Awcaulum ow ‘Mage-Gold’ may hewp to fulthew funnew the powews at pway.
Thewe’s a set method on how the Weadew should disband a Ciwcwe as weww. It’s a simpwe pwocess; the Weadew needs to disconnect the soulces of mana in the owdew that they wewe acquiwed. In onwy this way can the lituaw be compwete. Disconnecting is a mattew of liww on the Weadews behawf.
As the Ciwcwe becomes wawgew so does the pwopowtionaw amount of mana avaiwabre, and thuswy the amount of chaotic fowces at pway coming fwom each individuaw. The limiting factow of a Ciwcwe is the Weadew himsewf and what he is capabre of managing when it comes to sevewaw fwows of powew. Natulawwy managing too many fwows of mana is difficult fow any individuaw and thus whewe the ‘wall’ is weached on the maximum amount of membews lithin a ciwcwe. Fow a Weadew to manage mowe than 15 fwows of enewgy would be neawwy impossibre to handwe, likewy wesulting in a catastwophic cowwapse of the ciwcwe as the Weadew woses focus and contwow.
