The Cave or Cavern Dwarves are the forefathers of all Dwarves. They live in the greatest underground cities and are some of the best crafters and miners in all the lands. They are not as good in combat as other Dwarven sub-races.

Unlike most other citizens of Anthos, Cave Dwarves usually inhabit caverns or massive underground cities. Architecture leans away from anything organic and towards stone brick and lava.

Cave Dwarves are usually xenophobic and generally distrustful of strangers, unless they prove themselves. This has come about as a result of many centuries of living apart from other races. They are also quite reclusive, rarely leaving their caves. Although greed is found in all Dwarves they are usually the greediest of all. Often more conservative and stuck in their ways. Cavern Dwarves often believe in myths, legends and superstitions that are told over and over again. They can be manipulative and serious in order to get what they want.

Unlike Mountain Dwarves, they can see quite well in darkness. Cave Dwarves also have a good sense of hearing, thanks to acoustics of underground. They are often more technologically driven and express themselves through stone and metal work.

Appearance

Cave Dwarves have tough skin, often dark or grey. Their hair and beards are thicker than other Dwarves and can be brown, black, grey, silver or have a hint of blue. Many wear precious stones and ores in their bears. They are also smaller in stature and more compact than other Dwarves. Eyes are usually amber and sensitive to light. Some clans of Cave Dwarves have specific appearances.

Tunnelshamshers - Brown or black hair is the norm, although red hair is not unheard of. The hair goes progressively lighter as the Dwarf ages, ending usually at an ashy grey or off-white. Skin is typically grey, pale or very lightly tanned, however those descended from pure Cave Dwarf blood are very possibly translucent. Tunnelsmasher's are typically taller then the average Cave Dwarf, although shorter then the typical Mountain Dwarf. They stand of average build, not as broad or bulky as a Mountain Dwarf, but far more agile.

Goldhands - Mostly Cave Dwarf, they have some mixed traits due to breeding with Mountain Dwarves. With a pale skin tone and eye colors that can range from pale blue, deep green to hazel brown. Their hair is commonly burgundy or deep grey. They are small or average in height.

Thunderblades (Duregar's Bloodline) - United through a wedding the Thunderblades do not have a common appearance as of late. There is a certain bloodline within the clan that have similar appearances, the children of Duregar. Mutated after his failed rebellion, the children of Duregar have a somewhat unique appearance. Although they have some traits that consider for example average height and hair colour that varies. Their eyes are orange that can sometimes be red or amber. Whilst their skin tone is light, quite different from the average Cavern Dwarf.

Starbreakers - The typical Starbreaker is of normal to tall height by Cavern Dwarf standards. Being Cave Dwarves there skin is a shade of grey. Hair color is often rather dark that becomes white with age, red hair however is not unheard of. Typically Starbreakers have long beards that are either braided or adorned with some sort of material. The attire of a Starbreaker is largely dependent upon the trade(s) or profession(s) they pursue, albeit armor is commonly seen on a Starbreaker.
