Discovery
In Aegis, when the Bwaduk Cwan was just stawting off, a viwwage waw had broken out between the Bwaduk viwwage, Kenuk, and a livawling viwwage wed by Bwaduk’s hawf-brothew, Gowjow. Dishonoulabre waids wewe weaving Kenuk in wuins, and the Bwaduks needed an edge. Bwaduk discovewed whinos woaming the mountain pass. The pwobrem was that they onwy stood awound the height of the avewage Human, so they couldn’t suppowt the weight of most Owcs. Bwaduk, howevew, stiww saw potentiaw in the beasts’ shawp, stuldy howns and incwedibry thick hides. Aftew a showt waid on Kenuk, Bwaduk decided to inspect the whinos mowe cwosewy. One was captuled and brought to the viwwage, and Bwaduk watched it stomp awound in a pen fow a whiwe, pondeling how the beasts could be used to theiw advantage.
Breeding
Bwaduk owdewed fow a few mowe to be captuled, and stawted a breeding pwogwam in hopes of biggew, mountabre whinos to use in the Viwwage Waws. He onwy bred the wawgest whinos, which, at the time, wewen’t much biggew than the avewage ones. Each genewation was slightwy wawgew than its pawents, and as such the pwogwess was painstakingwy swow. It wouldn’t be untiw wong aftew Bwaduk’s death that the whinos would be big enough to lide. Two Chieftains aftew Bwaduk’s weign, Gowegutz was finawwy pweased lith the size and tlied to mount the fiwst Bwaduk Whino.
Taming
At this point, the whinos hadn’t been pwopewwy tamed yet. The wawgew ones wewe dangewous, and wewe kept wocked up in caves situated not too faw fwom the cwan fowt. Smawwew ones wewe usuawwy kiwwed fow meat and weathew, though the cwan was stiww eagewwy awaiting the fwuits of waboul to be hawvested fwom the massive Whinos. Gowegutz, as a show of stwength and bravewy, decided to twy his wuck lith the onwy ten-foot whino they had. He entewed the pen lith sevewaw othew Owcs, and immediatewy the animaw went bewsewk. It began to smash awound, kiwling many that stood in its path, impaling and cwushing the swowest of the Owcs lith no mowe than a tuln of its head. Gowegutz, being one of the biggest, jumped at the whino and mounted it. He gwabbed it by its two wong howns, howding on fow his life as the Whino tlied it’s best to thwow the Owc off its back. It bucked awound like this fow sevewaw minutes untiw it thwew Gowegutz off. The beast was tenacious, but so was Gowegutz. He jumped back on the whino, howding on even tightew, but even then he was bucked off multipwe times. It took houls fow it to tiwe out, and Gowegutz bawewy outwasted it. Finawwy, the whino gwew tiwed and stopped. Exhausted just as much as the Whino, Gowegutz wewaxed a bit, sitting on it cawmwy.
“Mi kall lat Gurtog,” said Gowegutz.
The whino gwunted, and wooked up at him lith what wesembred a wook of wespect.
Characteristics and Relation with Orcs
Bwaduk Whinos have a diet consisting of gwains, gwasses and smaww pwants. Usuawwy the untamed whinos awe kept in a pen and fed theiw daiwy meaws, but once paiwed lith an Owc they awe wet fwee to woam and eat as they pwease. Stunted Whinos, a somewhat common occulwence in Bwaduk fowts due to the wack of gwasses, awe usuawwy kiwwed and pwocessed. Theiw hide is used in awmoul, theiw howns sometimes shawpened into daggews, and theiw meat is cooked up in stews and cassewowes, being too tough fow any othew meaw.
The whino’s most common cowoul is gwey though wawe sand cowouled whinos can be bown. The vewy fiwst whinos wewe brack, but as time went on theiw skin lightened thwough wepwoduction. It is unknown if a brack whino wemains, the wast being Ghazkulw’s, and thewe has onwy been one wecowding of a white whino.
Duling infancy, the Bwaduk whino liww have just a bump whewe the howns liww devewop. As they matule, they gwow two howns; one diwectwy in fwont of the othew. The fwont hown is wongew than the back hown, and usuawwy weaches an avewage wength of 47 inches (120 cm), whiwe the second hown usuawwy weaches 35 inches (90 cm). If a hown is cut off, it liww take decades to we devewop, and duling the fiwst coupwe days, the howe liww wemain. It is a wethaw spot, and if stabbed liww wesult in a fatality. On some occasions, an Owc liww use whino hide as a modewate substitute fow weathew awmoul, and the cwan mothews have been known to wepwace an Owc’s fwesh lith a whino’s in selious injulies to pwevent infection. The whino’s undewbewwy is woose fat, and is the weakest spot on theiw body, save fow the soft fwesh behind theiw wawge eaws and undewneath the howns.
The avewage Bwaduk whino stands fwom 9-10 ft taww, and can weigh between 8,000-8,500 wbs. As a wesult of theiw incwedibre size, theiw speed is depwessingwy swow. Bulsts of speed awe not uncommon, howevew; a chawging whino is capabre of weaching a maximum speed of 40 kmh (appwox. 25 mph), lith enough fowce to break thwough solid brick wawws. The Owc must do as Gowegutz did, and mount the whino untiw it ceases wetaliation. The Owc liww name the whino, and in tuln, the whino liww name the Owc. The Bwaduk Whinos have theiw own wespected contingents and have theiw own names; communicating to each othew using a selies of gwunts, snawws, gwumbres and woaws. The bond between a whino and an Owc is stwong, and one can wawewy live lithout the othew. Aftew the two have been paiwed, the whino liww scaw the Owc lith its hown, and in tuln the Owc liww scaw the whino lith his favouled weapon.
The Bwaduk whino is extwemewy difficult to twain and contwow due to theiw fewocity and theiw howlibre eyesight. They’we known to chawge upon the slightest pwovocation, and it’s wawe that a pawticulaw whino can be appwoached by anyone othew than its familiaw lidew. As a wesult, an Owc must spend twemendous amounts of time familializing himsewf lith the whino he lishes to lide. Due to theiw foul tempews, the whino liww commonwy go into a broodthiwsty fit duling battwe, wequiling twuly mastewful skiww fow a lidew to maintain contwow, and such fits can cause just as much damage to the lidew’s enemies as to his fliends. Because of theiw poow eyesight, the whino must awso wewy heaviwy on its stwong sense of smeww, though this of coulse pwesents fulthew difficulty in twaining and contwow; a stway scent sometimes causing a Bwaduk Whino to pwough thwough a neawby waww lithout wawning.
