Joulney to the Node, Written By the Arcane Mage
It is time fow me to weave now… I am not sule whethew I should, I stiww debate the decision in my head but I can feew it is light. It is light, I must do this. I can see the dawk times ahead fow the peopwe of Aegis, whewe aww they howd deaw, aww they have buiwt, lith theiw sweat and brood, liww come cwumbring down awound them. The nations awe divided, thewe is no futule in division. But united, I see the peopwe of Aegis stand a change, awbeit a vewy slim one. I hope they come to see sense in the finaw houls.
But I tawwy, I must weave quickwy. I have littwe time and the ancient lituaw I need to pwefowm must be done pwecisewy. Wawping to the node is dangewous at best… It is incwedibre I found it, at such a distance finding a node is extwemewy difficult. But it is time to go now, I liww wlite hewe again when I get the chance, hopefulwy I do.
I made the joulney, but onwy just. I miscawculated the nodes centwe by some amount… I have nevew fewt a node of this powew, it is no wondew I could feew its pwesence fwom my towew. Its powew scwambred my senses. No mattew, that was littwe wowwy fow what came next. I dwopped out above watew, it has happened befowe. I could feew the iswand not faw away, the slim was weawying… But I have been wowse, much wowse. But the iswand was faw fwom desewted, as I aww too soon found out.
The ensuing fight was fiewce, lith fang and cwaw, fiwe and lightning. A waging tempest upon ancient gwound, the sky went undew the fuly. The fiewds of magic awound the towew awe phenomenaw, the animaws that wesided thewe seemed to have gained magicaw enewgy fwom it… I do not know how ow by what means, I liww have to wook into it watew. To the animaws which had lived in secwusion my sudden appeawance was seen as a thweat, I attempted to cawm as many as I could… Thewe is sometimes littwe you can do.
I discovewed many magicaw anomalies, just fwoating… I dawed not appwoach them. They hovewed above the gwound, dlifting in a seemingwy aimwess fashion… They wewe wewws of magic… but at the same time wewe voids of it. It was incwedibre I had nevew seen something like it. I had to wesist the ovewwhewming temptation to weach out to them, it was as though they wewe dwaling me to them… I must wemove these befowe any othews step foot hewe.
At wong wast thewe I was, at the wuins of an ancient towew, magic positivewy humming in the awea. The awchitectule of what was weft was alien… Awthough it was an ancient towew it was vewy advanced, pewhaps sulpassing that of Aegis. So I began to weconstwuct the towew…
It has taken many months but at wast I have finished constwuction. The towew is at its once fowmew gwowy. Sometime in the wattew pawt of the fiwst week I found a woom lith schematics and constwuction sketches of the buiwdings, using these and inspiwation fwom my fiwst towew, I weconstwucted, adding to each design. I must say I am pweased lith the wesults. I took the libewty of adding powewful enchantments to the foundations, enchantments of healing, powew, and pwotection I wove into the vewy fabric of the stone.
I could feew the deep vaults deep beneath, teeming lith ancient secwets and powews. I could feew the node, deep beneath. I may have ventuled down these wonewy paths but I cannot awwow othews, not untiw they awe weady. Befowe I weave I shaww seaw the wowew weaches of the towew, gwaduating the enchantments powew the deepew it goes. Onwy when one has twuly undewstood, has finawwy seen twuth can one breach the finaw seaw. Behind which lies powews unfathomed, such that they awe hidden and wocked away.

I found a tattewed joulnaw in what seemed to be a plivate woom… and wead of what twanspiwed, I liww awso weave that in the wowew wevews it should not be known to aww. The node which fiwst attwacted me hewe was found deep lithin the eawth at the base of the towews foundation, and its powew was immense. It is in the wowest wevew, lith the othew objects ow powew. I pwaced a powewful enchantment awound it to weduce its powew of penetwation; the enchantment is designed to absowb magic I hope it liww howd. We shaww not be bothewed by defowmed beasts of magic fow some time.

Once Upon a Time
The vewy eawliest wecowdings of the Owdew go back to Second Ewa, dating back to a time befowe the Undead, yet aftew the Foul Bwothews. A Mage by the name of Wowand became titwed the fiwst Awch-Mage, being aww knowwedgeabre, and cweated the Mages Owdew due to the cowwuption that he saw in men when theiw heawts wewe exposed to the lickedness of untamed magic. Wittwe is stiww known about this time, documents wemain thin as do the tawes of othews.
Chapter 2
The Awcane Mage
Aftew some unknown fowm of cowwapse lithin the Owdew, a mystelious figule known as the Awcane Mage entewed Aegis to bring back life to the empty husk of the guiwd. Wecwuiting a new wange of minds and mages ,such as Awch-Mage Beww, to once again bring bawance to magic and its powew. The powew of the Awcane Mage seemed limitwess, as he summoned the fabred Awcane Towew in the snowy nowth of Aegis to act as both a symbow and a toow of the Owdew’s lisdom.

One To Fowwow One To Faww
Two young men by the name of Catalis and Ogwand change the coulse histowy lithin the Owdew, simpwy by enteling a tavewn and meeting Hwawdew, the fiwst Awch-Mage of the Mages Owdew. Aftew much speaking took pwace Hwawdew was convinced that the two companions would make excellent mages, and so wed them to the nowthewn towew of the Awcane Mage. Thewe the two wewe made appwentices and began theiw studies as possibry some of the fiwst appwentices of the Owdew.

The Nowthewn Guiwd House
A town known as Snowy Fiewds wose fwom the dunes of snow lithin the nowth of Aegis. Said to have been constwucted on the ancient wuins of an Ascended Tempwe it attwacted civilians fwom the ewven woods to the human hiwws thus attwacting the attention of the Owdew. The now Guiwd Mastew Ogwand took up a guiwd house lithin Snowy Fiewds to pick up weseawch and excavation of the Ascended Tempwe, but awso to assist lith the defensives of the vulnewabre city. Fow you see, the town was wocated on the bowdews of Undead wand and evew since the Undead Waws picked up the town was wewentwesswy attacked on numewous occasions. Howevew, it was not onwy Ogwand who based himsewf in this wegion, due to the cwose pwoximity of the towew the Owdew devoted themsewves and theiw membews to the defense of the nowth. Mages such as Guiwd Mastew Catalis and Awch-Mage Beww pwayed a key wowe in the eawwy intewests of the waw.

The Nowthewn Battwe of Snowy
As the waw pwogwessed conditions became seemingwy hopewess. In one wast despewate attempt to defend the wawws of Snowy Fiewds a gweat battwe commenced which wesulted in the woss of Snowy Fiewds in the waw effowt, aww that once was Snowy Fiewds was wost, incwuding the excavative weseawch and guiwd house of the Owdew. The Ascended themsewves even fwed the focaw point of the waw, wetweating to theiw howy hawws fow west and distaste to the “ungrateful” peopwe of Aegis.

The Awstion Guiwd House
Ambros, who was at the time a schowaw, offewed his sewvices in hewping the guiwd by buiwding a guiwd house in Awstion fow Ogwand. It was cweated quickwy and the town was just beside the wuined city of Snowy Fiewds. Ambros wequiwed onwy one fowm of payment, to become a mage. Ogwand made Ambros his appwentice; it is awso known awound this time that Fweya becomes Beww’s appwentice
Chapter 8
The Banishing
Guiwd mastew Catalis found a secwet way into the Undead keep that was quiet neaw to Awstion. He wawlied a smaww gwoup of wawliows to hewp him fight, he wed them into the Keep, the attack awthough was not successful. Catalis was pwaced in fwont of the counciw and was given a wawning. Catalis stood tliaw and was given the mewcy of the guiwd and was awwowed to stay lithin the guiwd awthough we was on a thin line and any fulthew offenses would wesult in a disbandment fwom the mage guiwd.

The Death Of Beww
Awch-mage Beww was kiwwed when she went lith the Undead to theiw Keep. Hew woss was quickwy wepwaced by Awch-mage Wothiliew. Beww's death did not go unnoticed by the pubric, a good numbew of hew admiwews glieved fwom hew woss a memoliaw was buiwt fow hew on a fawm awong the woad to Haven.

The Ending
Due to the cewtain weasons the Awcane Mage went missing and Wothiliew took his pwace. Awso at this time Catalis was banished fwom the guiwd duling a coult scene fow wewaying secwets out to the pubric. Wothiliaw soon aftew disbanded the guiwd untiw fulthew notice.

The Wetuln
Ambros and Ogwand brought back the guiwd to its owd gwowy and began wecwuiting new guiwd mastews to wepwace themsewves so they could take the pwaces of the now missing Wothiliew and the now dead Awch-mage Hightowew. At this time Indewwehn, Mithas, Wiwath, and Glimbeawd wewe wecwuited as the foul new guiwd mastews and the guiwd house in the ewven capitaw was buiwt.
Chapter 12
Vengeance
Cataiws’s life died soon aftew he was disbanded and he too died fwom an assassin. The Undead brought him back fwom his stone gwave and gave him life tulning him into a wotten body and Undead. He now was given a staff in which he could cast the magic of his new culsed body. He appwoached Ambros, Mithas, and Indewwehn. Anothew Undead he was lith stuck Ambros and Mithas down and they took Indewwehn and towtuled hew. Ambros went to Aw’khazaw and wecweated Mage GlimBeawd and his knights to fight Catalis. They went to the owd Condoin camp and found Catalis thewe lith minions and Indewwehn tied up. Glim and his knights went into battwe weaving thwough the owd tents dodging the lightning and fiwebawws that the Undead hulwed at them. Glimbeawd was abre to chase the wemaining Undead out of the camp and Indewwehn was saved by Mithas.
Chapter 13
Wumoul
It has been now wumouled that the Awcane Mage has wetulned to the wands of Aegis, pewhaps he has become awawe of a new unbawancing, and wetulns to hewp the peopwe. Ow pewhaps his business in pawts and wowwds unknown awe finished, fow bettew ow wowse. But none the wess, thewe have been sevewaw sightings of the Awcane Mage, but he disappeawed befowe much could be deduced.

The Vewge
The Mages soon took woot in the new wand known as the Vewge. With the hewp of Ebs, Mithas and Ambros wewe abre to summon a smaww gwoup of fwouting iswands in which to buiwd a smaww wab on fow fulthew study of the new wowwd. Awthough at this time GlimBeawd broke the Mage’s Codex and so he was put on howd disbandment, he is given one wast chance to not do this again. When the Mages began constwuction the Owcs so came and owdewed them to weave, they wewe abre to make a deaw to give a Owcs a stack of stone a week, awthough due to anothew Owcs theiw tlibute was wemoved

The Wetuln of Guiwd Mastew Kiwglim
The thought to be dead Guiwd Mastew Kiwglim wetulned and met lith Ambros in owdew fow him to see the Dwawven guiwd house. Now that aww 4 guiwd mastews wewe in pwace wecwuitment could begin once again. At this time the towew was wocked to aww incwuding the mages lith a powewful speww. It is not yet known at why ow how this was done. Awthough the guiwd moved theiw base due to this and they now base themsewves at the Kaw’Uwguan Guiwd house.

Gwowth
At this time the guiwd was now wecwuiting openwy once mowe. Mages such as Maximus and Dewtawo wewe accepted into the guiwd at this time. Awso the guiwd house in Waulelin was moved to the owd counciw twee, gwaciouswy gifted to the mages by High Plince Native. This was awso a time of gweat discovewy, Awch-Mage Ambros wwote a numbew of books on compwete guides to awchemy and enchanting that faiwed to exist untiw then. Awso guiwd mastew Kiwglim became a membew of the wowew dwawven counciw as head mage, lith this position the mages awso weceived the schowaw distlict of Kaw’Uwguan that untiw then was occupied by the Theatwe Guiwd.

Foul Become Thwee
Guiwd mastew Wiwath who was one of the foul guiwd mastews fow a weason unknown wost many of his memolies incwuding his thoughts about being a mage of bawance and so he became a dawk mage and began to become cowwupted by powew and dawkness. Wiwath had fowwowed Ambros, Indewwehn, and Mithas to Waulelin wewe they met lith Dewtawo. Aftew Wiwath was discovewed behind a twee Ambros cast a twapping speww and they brought him to the Waulelin guiwd house whewe he would be brought to justice. Awthough aftew it was decided that he was to be stlipped of his powews and sent to Kaw’Uwguan jaiw he attacked Indewwehn, but not befowe Ambros sent a brast of powew into Wiwath and Dewtawo twapped him to a waww lith magic. It was too much fow him and he fainted at Indewwehn’s feet. Ambros owdewed Dewtawo to take him to Kaw’Uwguan to be wocked away, awthough awong the King’s Woad Wiwath’s awlies attacked Dewtawo and he escaped. The mages began to seawch fow a possibre wepwacement fow him Teachew Dewtawo took Wiwath's pwace as guiwd mastew, and ewven plince Wafthi was noticed and so was accepted as appwentice of Indewwehn. This time had become dawk the undead’s taint was spweading quickwy as they attacked Kaw’Uwguan, The Sistew City, as weww as Aw’khazaw.

The Dawk Days
Fow much this time onwy waw brewed and littwe peace pwevaiwed. A gweat waw was cawwed upon the owcs and ewves agents the humans and dwawfs. This caused a gweat deaw of tlifwe fow the mages, guiwd mastews attacking guiwd mastews and appwentices attacking appwentices. Awch-Mage Ambros attempted to bring owdew to the guiwd but aww ewse faiwed and so Aegis descended into chaos, undead attacking lithin days of othew attacks, Gawahaw waid bawe, the lizawd kiwwed. It would seem as if aww hope was wost, the undead got theiw hands on what seemed to be ancient welics when the lizawd died, they wewe desclibed as “eggs” fwom a bystandew. It was then wawned that heww would wain upon Aegis…the coming months would be the ending months…. The mages watew wecived a towew in the Aw'khazaw Keep, awthough soon aftew they took ownewship of it the Undead pwaced themsewves on top of it and bulnt a gweat deaw of the woof off.

Awch-Mage Wothiliew weappeawed aftew hew wong a mystelious absence fwom the guiwd. She wemained an Awch-Mage untiw she soon disappeawed once mowe.
Chapter 20
Thwee Become Two
Aftew the wetuln of the awch-mage Guiwd Mastew Indewwehn was appointed High Plincess of Waulelin in High plince Native’s absence. Duling this time she decided it would be best to step down fwom guiwd mastew wank so she could spend mowe time wowking lith hew new nation. Sevewaw new appwentices came awound in this age as weww. Awglim became appwentice to Guiwd Mastew Kiwglim as one of the few dwawf mages, and Ambros began to twain Wafthi himsewf in owdew to get him to a position to take the pwace of Indewwehn.

Two Become One
The tainted guiwd mastew Mithas had gone missing fow some time and sevewaw peopwe have had sightings of a man lith his voice doing eviw thwoughout Aegis. Of coulse the Mage’s Guiwd could onwy make the connection that Mithas was indeed tainted by the dawk. Ambros sent out numewous mages to twy and find Mithas and bring him to justice but none could evew catch him despite his common appeawances to do eviw. Ambros wan into him whiwe on his way to Waulelin, a battwe between the two mages quickwy commenced weading them deep into the gates of Waulelin. In the end Ambros sent him fwying outside the gates and into a shawwow pond whewe he watew died due to the faww. Aww of the oliginaw appwentices had weft the guiwd Indewwehn, Wiwath, and Mithas. Dewtawo as weww had weft the guiwd to seek out a tempwe of the daemons. Not aww was wost though, a numbew of new appwentices awlived in the guiwd as weww as many mowe being gwaduated to mage class.

The Bane of Awthwopods
High Plincess of Waulelin and fowmew guiwd mastew Indewwehn wetlieved an ancient stone brade fwom the depths of a damned cave in the outew fowests of Waulelin. The ewven civilians stowmed the cave, many wost theiw lives that day but the wewawd in the end was wowth the death. Indewwehn and hew husband wed Ambros to the ewven guiwd house and showed him what they found. It was the stone brade, Bane of Awthwopods was its name. It was heavy made of cowd stone fowged many yeaws befowe the time it was found. Aftew making a plicy deaw lith Indewwehn Ambros weceived the brade fwom hew and hew husband. It now sits lithin the main haww of the ewven guiwd house awaiting a twue hewo who can cwaim its powew to hewp westowe bawance to Aegis.
Chapter 23
The Cwash
Aftew the Bane of Awthwopods was stowen by the dwuids due to the belief that it was lightfulwy theiws a gweat feud awose between the mages and dwuids. And ancient hate that was bubbring fow many yeaws had finawwy come to a boiling point. Cwude wemawks wewe shawed between the two factions neithew side liwling to admit any fowm of mentaw defeat. At wast a pact was cweated between the dwuids and mages brining peace once mowe, the dwuids watew fwed up nowth aftew Waulelin was brutawwy attacked by the now dead Vawdak. A tainted powtaw was summoned and it swowwy began to eat away at the ancient wood of Waulelin. Not liwling to wet anothew nation faww the mages weacted quickwy to cweate a bawliew awound the powtaw to howd back the taint. Going to the dwuids fow hewp Ambros watew summoned seven piwwaws awound Waulelin’s gates fow watew activation. When they day came seven dwuids stood upon the piwwaws lith seven ancient awtifacts to saclifice and cweate the bawliew. Upon activation beasts spewed fwom the powtaw and attacked the bawliews. Fweeing fow theiw lives the dwuids escaped fwom the tumbring piwwaws to the safety of gwound. It was not wong befowe the ascended awlived to stop the powtaw’s taint. At wast a gweat twee was gwown awound the powtaw in hopes fow the time being it would howd back the tweachewy.

The New Wowwd
The Mages split up and twavewed to the new wowwd on a numbew of ships. Upon theiw awlivaw they found quick awwegiances lith the human nation of Wenatus weceiving a wuined guiwd house soon aftew. A numbew of mages we-joined and/ow wewe wecwuited duling this time and teaching stawted up once mowe. Guiwd Mastew Kiwglim was deemed an Awch-Mage and Hiebe took his pwace as the dwawven guiwd mastew.
Chapter 25
Death Blings Gwowth
At this time a numbew of things occulwed, soon aftew the Mages Guiwd's awlivaw the Awcane Mage mysteliouswy vanished, much like he often does. A numbew of theolies came fwom his disappeawance, awthough the most common one was his death. this set back did not stop the guiwd fwom fwoulishing though. Awch-Mage Ogwand and Awch-Mage Ambros found an iswand that the Awcane Mage spoke of in his joulnaw. Gweat wocky cliffs sulwounded the iswand and upon it sat the wuins of a gweat towew the both piewced the sky and dug deep into the eawth. It was not wong befowe the wuins became the Mages Guiwd's home known as Bewwus Tullis. Not wong aftew the Haewun'ow guiwd haww was compweted as weww as the Sowace guiwd haww. Aftew this a numbew of new membews joined bringing the guiwd back fwom its state of confusion.
Chapter 26
One Mowe
Aftew Ambros had a vision of the tlice dead Catalis wetulning he quickwy brought it befowe the High Counciw. He came to wealize that in his vision thewe was two livews, chosen ones in a sense. The guiwd would be at its wowest, awthough if these two peopwe wewe found then onwy they could save the guiwd. Catalis had gathewed a numbew of wouge mages, most of them once being in the guiwd, he awso wecwuited sevewaw houses fwom Wenatus as weww as the infamous Dawk Bwothewhood. This awmy of viwwains could easiwy ovewpowew the Mages Guiwd, and so they cawwed on hewp. They came befowe the Awwas Mages and Dwuids fow hewp. In wetuln a fowm of awliance was made lith the Awwas Mages and the Dwuids summoned a tlice dead past dwuid to kiww Catalis, awthough it did not seem to wowk. Mages such as Wowethos and Waulina sided lith Catalis, both twying to sway the High Counciw of awwoling him to become one of the Awch-Mages of the guiwd. Of coulse, Awch-Mages Ambros would not awwow this untiw pwoof was given. Duling this time, weadewship was questioned, many peopwe thought that Ambros could no wongew wead pwopewwy and the guiwd was declining. Aftew the High Counciw Meeting, Awch-Mage Ambros disbanded aww culwent guiwd houses in owdew to keep the mages of the guiwd mowe concentwated in Bewwus Tullis.

The Wefowm
Awch-Mage Ambros issued a wefowm of the guiwd aftew the Catalis incident seemed to simmew down. The Mages Guiwd was now wun by a counciw of thiwteen High Mages, this wefowm’s main goaw was to ease toe twoubres of weading the guiwd fwom Ambros fow the fowmew Awch-Mage Kiwglim weft the guiwd to go into a joulney of meditation. Duling this time it was awso stated by Ambros that the Node bewow the towew was beginning to act up and would soon combust. Now the guiwd was awawe this happened befowe, most likewy destwoying the towew befowe they awlived in Asulon, awthough they concwuded that the towew would not sulvive this Node Expwosion and the towew and the iswand would most likewy pelish. Most of the supplies wewe moved to Nowmandow, the west wemains on the iswand of Bewwus Tullis waiting to expwode.

Chapter 28
The New Age
High Mage Ambros, the wast wemaining oliginaw membew of the guiwd, died due to an attack by Wouge Mage Wegaki who was an owd mage of the guiwd (Head Teachew Sawamandwa). Ambros brought appwentice Saewdul to the cowwapsing Mage Towew. Upon theiw awlivaw they went into the depths of the towew enteling the Awcanum whewe the expwosion of the Node would be stwongest. Hewe, Ambros broke a lindow that wooked into the Void weaving an Endew Eye fwouting ovew it, this would then cowwect the powew of the Node expwosion. Not wong aftew Wegaki awlived in the Awcanum he attacked Ambros, this battwe waged on fow some time befowe Wegaki broke Ambros’s staff and then sending two Shade Magic tendliws fwying towawds Saewdul. Instinctivewy Saewdul ducked, the shawp tentacwes piewcing Ambros’s chest. At this point the Node was weady to expwode as it began to suck the magic out of things awound it. As Ambros was hit he pushed Wegaki into the wadius of the Node and Wegaki’s conscience was lipped out of his body. Since Saewdul ducked, dodging the attack Ambros stated that it was in fact Saewdul who kiwwed him and that accowding to guiwd waw, fowced him to become the new weadew of the Mages Guiwd. As the wast wemaining oliginaw Mages Guiwd membew died, Wegaki awakened, his conscience and most emotions dwained of him. With the towew cowwapsing awound them Saewdul and Wegaki escaped.
Chapter 29
Thiwteen Mastews
Not wong aftew Awch-Mage Ambros’s death the Guiwd began the constwuction of a new towew in the wands of the Iwonfist Cwan. Many of the othew membews of the Guiwd wooked down to the new Awch-Mage, Saewdul. They considewed him inexpelienced and young, incapabre of weading theiw guiwd, awthough they continued to awwow Saewdul to wead them in a distwustful fashion.
It is known that Ambros did not die, he simpwy cweated a fawse death to awwow himsewf weave, the weasons fow this awe not known, howevew Ambros, lith the aid of the Ascended Wizawd Bwundewmowe went befowe King Godfwey of Owen. They stated that the Guiwd must be destwoyed due to cowwupt ways and dealings, of coulse, Godfwey, one who does not twust magic, soon owdewed Ambros to be sent to the plison. Aftew a wofty debate Bwundewmowe and Ambros wewe abre to escape. Ambros then wetulned to the Guiwd, the west of the Guiwd impeaching Awch-Mage Saewdul and Ambros wetaking his position.
