Aldal Ireheart, a skilled diplomat and a talented bureaucrat, who served his kind in various roles in his past. Due to his great knowledge about the dwarven sociaty and the dwarven religion, Aldal Ireheart held many positions of power among his kind.

Early Life

Not much is known about Aldal Ireheart’s early life, other than that he was born to Olaf Ireheart and an unknown mother in Aegis, both of whom were notoriously bad parents.

Anthos and The Fringe – After years of obscurity, Aldal Ireheart actively became part of his community in the early Anthosian years. He first found employment within the Legion, serving alongside his close friends Fili Grandaxe and Fimlin Grandaxe, as well as his brother Donaafr. He fought in many of the great battles of this era that consolidated Thorin Grandaxe’s power on the continent, and completed his Ireheart Trials. As a result of all of this conflict and bloodshed, he soon became disillusioned with violence, and became very religious.

Shortly after devoting his life to Da Kirkja Dverga, in a time of struggle for the group, Aldal was promoted to High Prophet of the dwarven clergy. He set to work on returning the group to its former glory, naming Omithiel Strongbrow as a Paragon. Activity within the clergy saw a sizeable increase during his tenure, and he used his position as High Prophet to campaign for the preservation of dwarven culture. Not long after his ascension to the leadership of Da Kirkja Dverga, the Hammer of Barradin was discovered. Aldal was deemed most pure of the dwarves by the guardian of the ancient relic, but being extremely modest and realising that a mightier warrior than he would be needed to take on the task of battling Ondnarch, the ancient enemy of his people, he chose to grant the Hammer to Igor Ireheart, a close friend and relative. Following Igor’s death during his duel with Ondnarch, Aldal declared Wyrvun to be a member of the Brathmordakin. He also established the Hall of Heroes, granting Hero title to its first members; Igor Ireheart, Thorin Grandaxe, Morgrim Grandaxe, Bazian Grandaxe, Simmpa and Dreek Ireheart. Replacing his now-deceased cousin, Aldal rose from Clan Elder to Clan Father of the Irehearts. He oversaw the construction of the new Clan Hall in The Fringe, and formed blood pacts with many other dwarven clans, most notably the Frostbeards. With these tasks complete and the clergy revived, the High Prophet dropped all of his previous titles and set out on a pilgrimage.

Having returned from his pilgrimage, Aldal’s kindness to Igor not forgotten, he was once again granted many important roles. He became Grand Advisor, a task which involved taking part in meetings of the Lords’ Council, where he provided insight. He was also made Jarl of Vaerhaven, and was to be the last leader of the settlement. He began a project of revitalisation for the hold, but disaster after disaster as a result of Setherien’s terror began to bombard Anthos, and he was forced to evacuate his citizens to the safety of Kal’Ithrun. As Jarl, he assisted Wulfgar Grandaxe in the settlement of peace terms with human enemies. At this time, Aldal also rose to the rank of High Remembrancer, and once more openly campaigned for the preservation of dwarven customs, traditions and culture in general. Shortly after all of this, he was presumed dead after an assault in dubious circumstances by human bandits, losing his memory in the process and not having recovered fully until the early days of Axios, at which point he returned to his people.

Axios

Aldal was welcomed back by his dwarf kin with open arms, and he immediately began to involve himself in working for the betterment of Kal’Omith. He became a Clan Elder of his kin once more, and oversaw the creation of Rym Ur Yemekar, the reformed Inquisition of Da Kirkja Dverga. Aldal also earned a role as an educationalist, his old ally Zahrer Irongrinder naming him Master of The Sirk Oz Varak within the Khaz’Lordak. He became a Senator for Clan Ireheart, supporting pacifism in the pursuit of improving the infrastructure of The Grand Kingdom of Urguan until such a time as it was suitably prepared to wage war again. His political zeal earned him a role as an Ambassador to Haelun’or, and as an Ambassador he constructed a defensive alliance with Courland, assisted by Borku Bonesmasher. His involvement with the clergy quickly earned him the position of Prophet of Anbella. He once again attempted to revive Da Kirkja Dverga by opening up the chance of leadership roles to dwarves who had not previously been actively involved with the group. After a significant rise in clergy activity, Aldal guided the selection process of the new High Prophet and Council of Prophets before stepping down to pursue politics. During his second tenure in the clergy, he successfully gleaned confessions from Kerwyr Frostbeard relating to his involvement in past conflicts with several clans, which had sparked as a result of their pacifist views.
