Biography
Early Life
From her beginnings, there was harshness in Valentina's life. She was born on the countryside of Vitzburg to her mother, a sommelier, by the name of Anna More. Her father was not a commoner like her mother, but instead the Duke of Vidaus. He left Valentina to her mother's care to return elsewhere after his leave of absence. In his time away, he died directly two years after his leaving. Valentina was too young to recall the event, other than faint and muddled memories of her mother in mourning. Despite her father being a noble, she was a bastard and therefore would be raised as one.
Valentina was raised by her mother, who taught her all of her basic necessities of life. Her mother wasn't able to afford proper tutoring or schooling for the young Valentina, and she was unable to teach her much in regards to writing and reading. Valentina would later pick up those two skills on her own. She went through the ongoings of any other commoner, up until the passing of her mother from sweating sickness. As an orphan child living in a small house, she was overwhelmed with the responsibilities she was not yet ready to take on. After weeks of the house's taxes going unpaid, Valentina was removed from the household and ordered to be shipped off to a nunnery.
To her luck, the nunnery was not far off from her homeland of Vitzburg. There, she was able to maintain a better education and learn the scripture of the Church of Canon on a daily basis. She had concentrations in economics, and heavily applied herself in the learning of how to manage a household. It wasn't until the age of seventeen that Valentina departed from the nunnery. In her ventures out of the holy institute, the young Ruthern travelled to the imperial city of Helena. Through sheer coincidence, she managed to find herself in an interview with the Empress-Consort of the Holy Orenian Empire, Lorena Christina.
As the Grand Lady of the Imperial Court
The Empress was taken aback by Valentina's work ethic and strong piety. She kept her confidence and determination high throughout the entirety of the interview, which led her to be granted the position of the Grand Lady of the Imperial Court. She rose to the position after a fortnight in the city, and was overwhelmed with content and excitement at the elevation after many years of containing mostly nothing.
