Not to be confused with Weaponry.

The realm can be dangerous at times, what with the monsters and bandits that are always looking for victims. In order to stay safe one must be ready to fight. There are many common and uncommon weapons in the Realm that will help one defend themselves. Some types of weapons are more commonly used among specific groups. All of the weapons worked with metal are made by blacksmiths, the better their expertise in the field, the more damage they deal. The same applies to woodworkers who are required for creating bows. (See: Nexus professions)

Close Range Weapons

Close range weapons are those which are used most often in combat, capable of inflicting the most damage to those near the user. Normally used together with heavy ferrum (iron) armor due to the close confrontation that comes with it. Blacksmiths have been developing weapons for a long time, and have created many alloys to be shaped into weapons.

  • Sword

The most common of all weapons. This is due to it being easy to handle and requiring not much force or training to cause harm.

  • Battle Axe

A weapon that's not all too common but still used on occasion. It's especially popular with Orcs and Warhawkes though also not uncommon amongst Humans. It needs strenght to handle though it can be used both as a weapon for smashing an opponent as well as cutting into them with the blade. In the hands of a skilled axeman, this weapon means certain death to most.

  • War Hammer

The war hammer is likely the most preferred weapon for dwarves. It requires a lot of brute force to use due to it's weight, though if handled correctly, it can cause serious injury.

  • Pike

Pikes are heavy weapons used by infantry. Their purpose is to dismount riders off their horses so that they can gain an advantage. The downside is they are single use, just like the Lances.

  • Shovel

Sometimes even those who avoid conflict are dragged into it. When this occurs, many Halflings will use their shovels and spades for combat.

Cavalry Weapons

  • Lance

Lances are heavy weapons which have to be used on a horse. Their main use is to knock another person off his horse. These weapons have a single use, yet in wars they have been known to be used as ballista ammunition.

Long Ranged Weapons

  • Bow and arrows

The preferred weapon of Elves and especially Wood Elves. The bows are made by woodworkers, the best of which are able to create great bows, capable of sending arrows at extreme speeds. Arrows are made normally made by the same woodworkers, yet modifications can be done to some arrows. Various arrow heads and additions can be made to the arrows, from using flint to ferrum, and then shaping them to fit other means. There is also use in coating the arrow in alchemy reagents, and there are stories of mad people gluing TNT into arrows. In combat, they can be used in close range, although are primarily used from a distance, making archers the first to inflict damage upon an enemy. The archer's attire is normally very light, made from primarily from leather, which allow the archer to move faster and better, exchanging protection for mobility.

  • Alchemy potions

A few Alchemists are able to create potions that can be used ofensively without the need to drink them. The most devastating potion is that of alchemist's fire, able to ignite the area it hits on fire, many times killing everyone around. But be warned, those not experienced in alchemy are more likely to throw the potion wrong, and have it break on top of them.

Other weapons

  • Flint and steel

One of the less popular weapons, flint and steel is nonetheless still used by some, particularly bandits. It is useful to surprise the victim and quickly light them on fire. Not effective if the intended victim is standing in water.

  • Fists

If caught without any other weapon, one can always try to punch the enemy to death. Some Orcs use fistfights as a way to settle disputes. Never try and fight a Kha barehanded, their claws are as sharp as knives.

  • Staff

The main weapon of choice for many people that use magic. Their staves aid the mage to use magic and can hit quite hard if swung.

  • Skinning Knife

While it can be considered as a weapon, a skinning knife isn't very effective as one, and thus doesn't cause much harm. Its primary use is the skinning of leather.
