Regarded as a promising protege of Gromgok'Gorkul and the son of Thore'Gorkil, Gorgul was the youngest Rex named at age 15. A diplomatically minded Orc understanding the importance of modernization, Gorgul instituted a white peace with the dwarves, trade, and infrastructure overhaul in hopes of competing with the great Empires of Urguan and Oren. Often he would take trips to the Spirit Realm in homage to the Far Seer tradition he was taught by Gromgok and Mogroka for insight, however, five years into his reign, he did not wake up from a trip gone awry. His peers shamans died and he was left in a catatonic state for over a decade until his body mysteriously vanished; his father Thore ruling in his stead.

The War Uzg was the war nation of the Orcs from Asulon to mid-Anthos. Prior to the War Uzg, the Orcs belonged to the War Nation of Krugmar. The Orcs of the War Uzg settled in the deserts and savannas of Asulon and Anthos. Under Rex Wulgehn'Lur, the War Uzg was disbanded, letting the Clans sort their disputes until they could come together under one banner again. Later, the War Uzg would return in the form of the Iron Uzg, forged by the former Rex Vrograk'Gorkil. The current capital is San'Thraka.

History

Asulon

As the orcs ventured to Asulon with the other mortal races, the orcs saw a boost in their population. This spurred the idea that the Kingdom of Krugmar was not working for the orcs, and thus the War Uzg, a nation of violence, was born. As a result of their new-found strength, the orcs of the War Uzg aided in raiding the weak Kingdom of Renatus with the Realm of Hanseti. War eventually breaks out with the orcs and Hansetians on one side and the Kingdom of Renatus on the other side. The war is stalemated after the orcs take over the fort of Das Boot. After these tensions, the War Uzg set it's eyes on the Silver City of the High Elves. Within time, the orcs had burned down the Silver City after weeks of raiding. After the sacking of the Silver City, the War Uzg sat dormant for a while, until a new political advance in the War Uzg occurred.

The first Rex Klomp of the War Uzg had occurred. The current Rex, Mogroka'Gorkil, versus Pok'Ugluk of the Ugluk Clan. After a fierce battle, Pok'Ugluk emerges winner and the new Rex. Quickly relations with the Kingdom of Salvus plummet to eventual war between the two nations. The Rex then created a coalition against the Kingdom of Salvus, comprised of Hanseti, Renatus, Alras, and Malinor. Despite getting the War Uzg involved in numerous conflicts, which pleased many orcs, other orcs were upset at Pok'Ugluk's alienation of the War Uzg's tribute nations. They felt this was dishonoring Rex Mogroka's work and dishonoring the spirits. The Lur clan especially found his acts deplorable given their propensity to wisdom and challenged his Rexdom.

Pok was defeated by the Lur's chosen Rex, Murkash'Lur. He ruled for just a year but is remembered for stopping Pok's atrocities. After a year, he yielded the Rexdom to Gromgok'Gorkil happily. Many believed him to be Mogroka'Gorkil's true successor. Although being very popular amongst the orcish population, Mogroka advised him to step down from the position of Rex to further his learnings in shamanism. To take his place was Pok'Ugluk again. In an attempt to please the people of the Uzg, Pok did not do relativly much in terms of war, but despite this, the Lurs still did not approve of him and had Craotor'Lur challenge him. At the time of Pok's defeat, Gromgok had returned from his spirit voyage and laid claim to his old title.

Gromgok defeated the old Orc Craotor'lur using newfound shamanistic spirit-stepping, indisputably reclaiming his title as Rex of all the Orcs. His second reign is regarded as the Silver Age of the Orcs, as the Orcs managed to force tribute and expand into the Subudai states in Alras and challenged the Dwarves in open field battle. With a host of competent generals such as Grool'Gorkil, Murkash'Lur, Gorgul'Gorkil, Craotor'Lur, and Moksha'Lur under the renowned Targoth Jarkarll'Lur, the War Uzg prospered, with Gromgok leading the fray using powerful shaman techniques. The realm prospered once more under his reign, but Gromgok soon inherited the love of shamanism as his mentor and found the Rexdom interfering with his pursuit of higher arts. He commanded his pupil, Gorgul, to challenge him for the Rex klomp. The two fought for a full day before Gorgul was named the victor.

Clans

//Within the War Uzg, clans were a necessity. They kept social order and provided competition between the orcs. Each clan was in its own way unique. The clans eventually brought the downfall of the War Uzg with their disputes.//

Gorkil

The **Gorkil Clan** are often referred to as the dominant clan of the war nation. This clan of bloodthirsty warriors have earned the title of Rex far more than any other Orcish clan has before. The orcish warboar is unique to the Gorkil Clan. Most Gorkils are raised to be great warriors, commanders, and are natural born leaders. Distinctive features of a Gorkil include darker green skin, blood red eyes, an uncountable amount of scars from both battle and self mutilation. Gorkils typically despise magic, and follow in the footsteps of Krug rather than the Orcish spirits.

Lur

The **Lur Clan** are often regarded as the best hunters the war nation has to offer. Unique to the clan, the Lurs breed ferocious wolves, and ride them into battle. Upon birth, the Lurs allow their wolves to decide if the cub is fit to live or not. Lurs typically stay out of the political side of the war nation and would rather live for the hunt. They are a more quiet and stoic form of orc. While being physically smaller than most orcs, Lurs have unmatched foot speed compared to the other clans.

Braduk

The **Braduk Clan**, notably one of the oldest clans of the orcs and largest of the orcish people. Their skin is a swampy green and they have various shades of blue eyes. The Braduks are one of the most stubborn and unyielding clans. Those who challenged the ways of the Braduks have met a violent end. The Braduks are the only clan capable of taming and breeding rhinos.

Ugluk

The Ugluk Clan was once a notable clan within the War Uzg. The clan is most commonly known for their leader, Pok'Ugluk. The clan was destroyed by the Braduk clan due to betraying them during Anthos.

Azog

The Azog Clan was an infamous clan within the War Uzg. The clan is most commonly known for being a modern clan that was banished from the War Uzg. They have made numerous reappearances trying to invade the War Uzg.

Culture

//The society of the War Uzg is drastically different than those of other mortal races. Orcs revolve around physical strength and their spirits primarily. Despite being very different than other races, the orcish culture is very diverse.//

Society

Orcs of the War Uzg hate Necromancers/Undead/Iblees Minions. They have devoted themselves to doing as much damage to the Undead as possible. Often times they performed raids on Necromancer hideouts just for the fun of it.

Orcs view children as the future. They are treated well by all the elders of the tribe, even though being treated well by an Orc is like being treated as a prisoner by the other races. Since they are the future, the elders need to ensure that that they will have a good chance of surviving to become the future. To accomplish this all Orc children are taught the ways of combat at an early age. Every Orc has been taught the basic skills needed to hold their own in combat and many are trained in the finer points of tactics and battle.

Orcs have a deep sense of history. Almost every night, the tribe will meet around a large fire and the elders will pass along their history to the children. This history starts at the tribe level reaching to the level of the nation.

When most races greet each other, they engage in some minor ritual such as shaking hands. Male Orcs view the meeting of another Male Orc as an opportunity to show their strength. When two Orcs meet, each will kick, headbutt, or punch the other in the gut, head, or face; the stronger the hit, the better. The receiving Orc must shake off the greeting as quickly as possible to show their great strength, while the Orc who initiated the greeting must assess the other for signs of weakness. Some Orcs have been seriously injured by this event, leading to some of the greatest alliances in Orc history. This common greeting also gives Orcs an opportunity to show the other Orc who is better. One Orc may allow himself to be shown that they are weaker in order to show respect for the other Orc. In return, the kicking Orc may hold back some of his kick to show respect for the kicked. The ritual is complex and only truly understood by the Orcs themselves.

Government

The government structure of the Orcs primarily revolved around physical strength over everything else. The Rex was considered the strongest Orc within the War Uzg. Clans would take part in the government in the form of Wargoths and Chieftains.

  • Rex: A Rex was powerful Wargoth who had risen to power as the dominant leader of the War Uzg. He controlled all aspects of the War Nation and oversaw how the Government was run. He would often get many females to become his mates.
  • Wargoths: A Wargoth was the leader of a clan in the War Nation. Wargoths differed from Chieftains because they were leaders of prominent clans in the nation. They oversaw their clan and how it was personally run. They rose to their position by proving their physical prowess, or becoming high-ranking officials in their clan and challenging their Wargoth. Or they formed the clan themselves in the first place.
  • Chieftain: Chieftains held the same responsibilities as the Wargoth, only that their clan did not have that much power, or simply didn't contribute much to the War Uzg.
  • Foodgoth: The Foodgoth was responsible for overseeing the crafting of food for the War Nation, and worked many rigorous hours to make sure that the Orcs didn't go hungry. They would, of course, have apprentices to help them, but they were the master cook for the entire Orcish population.
  • Yazgurtan: Responsible for collecting tribute and improving the War Nations structures, the Yazgurtans were the domestic officials of the War Nation.
  • Motsham: The eldest of the shamans in the War Nation, the Motshams were responsible for most of the shamanic teaching and keeping of the ancient lore of the war nation.
  • Kheshig: The Kheshig were the personal guards of the Rex.

Hunting

One of the most important things to an orc is the hunt. Clans known for their exceptional hunting prowess are the Lur Clan. Orcs go out on hunting parties for multiple weeks on end, coming out with more supplies than they went out with. Many times the bones of their game will be used for artifacts, clothing, or trophies.

Shamanism

A Shaman is an envoy of the spiritual and ancestral planes. They practice rituals to visit and speak to spirits, and some of the most experienced Shamans can even travel to the planes of the Daemon Apohet themselves. The Shamans have been around since the early days of Aegis, and their activity has wavered throughout the centuries. For more information on shamanism, visit the wiki page here.

Combat

Every Orc was enlisted into the Krughai as it was expected every Orc could fight.

Elite warriors often wear armor for additional protection. Orcish smiths fashion crude, blocky and heavy pieces of armour, which nevertheless are quite effective in stopping blows. The most common pieces are extremely heavy breastplates which cover only the back and torso, and long, thick suits of chain mail which provide protection from neck to thigh.

Orcs often don helmets which are designed to increase the damage of their headbutts. These helmets are often heavy and always equipped with horns, spikes, or something else that increases damage. A variety of designs is available to all orcs, while others are clan-specific.

Orcs weapons are crude but cruelly efficient. They prefer axes and swords, and they prefer them to be as large and heavy as possible. As an example, an ordinary Orcish battleaxe is too heavy to be wielded by a Human or an Elf, and the large, huge, and gargantuan varieties can only be used by Orcs who have grown in size, due to increased age. While the other races may prefer lighter weapons for accuracy and fast strikes, a trained Orc uses his weapons for deep, heavy blows.

These swords and axes are various in type, depending on clan origin and preferred fighting style. Orcs have used everything from one-handed swords and axes to two-handed razors and slicers of combat. Most Orcish weapons are fairly simple in design, but with rich decoration and vicious details added after the actual weapon is finished. Some Orcish weapons may have small counter-hooks and primitive, frightful runes etched along the sides. Orcish swords can also have jagged or curved edges. Finally, axes or swords could also be double-bladed.

When Orcish warriors use single-handed weapons, they can also wear shields. Shields are often made from simple leather, but more experienced (or wealthy) Orcs may have full iron shields. These shields are always usable as secondary weapons, with spikes for stabbing, jagged blades for slashing, and sometimes both. Orcs regularly decorate their shields, most commonly with the symbol of their clan.

Traditionally, Orcs are not very fond of range weapons, preferring to wade directly into melee combat. They do, however, occasionally use bows.

Orcish blacksmiths also craft more exotic weapons, often designed as much to intimidate and frighten, as to be effective weapons of war. Orcish special weapons often inflict a massive amount of damage but are unwieldy and slow. The Two-bladed two-hand sword is an extreme example of adventurous orcsh weaponsmithing, while the legendary Flattener is among the more effective variations. The Flattener is simply a thick metal pole with an anvil-sized, flat lump of metal attached to its end. While this weapon's speed is incredibly slow, a direct hit often proves fatal.

War Machines

Orcs are great enthusiasts of large engines of war. They build mobile catapults and ballistas, as well as things which are more exotic - and often quite deadly. The Orcish mancrusher, for instance, is rightly feared. The mancrusher launches large slabs of rock into the air, not very far but quite high, and it is designed to devastate soldiers rather than buildings.

The orc dispenser is a more quirky engine. It catapults a single orc five to six hundred meters and is used to send them directly into the midst of enemy armies. It shoots Orcs at great speed at a quite low, flat angle - and usually with the head first. The living missiles are routinely killed by a combination of the impact and enemies.

The so-called Slapper consists of a huge, flat wooden plate, covered by sheets of metal and spikes. The plate is wound up by Orcs using winches, and when released it snaps forward and to the right or left, mowing down anyone who doesn't get out of the way quickly enough.

The Mad Hellfire Catapult fires large animal stomach balloons filled with an unstable liquid substance. Upon impact, the balloons either explode in balls of deadly flame or merely burst, covering everything in harmless goo.

Blah

Blah is the language of the Orcs. It is extremely difficult and usually impossible for Orcs to speak the common tongue spoken by most other citizens of Vailor, due to their tusks. The language can be a source of conflict between the Orcs and other races.

ORIGINS

Before the unification of the 4 main clans, Dom, Gorkil,Lur and Rax each clan had its own dialect with different variations of speech. Lurs says ork not orc, Doms spoke more refined while Raxs spoke in a more harsh manner. With the unification of the 4 great clans after the clan wars the dialects of each clan began to mix, words from the Lur clan like San, Blarg and Ug became standard among the orcs. But the official Blah only appeared when the Orcs Urara, Gragarn and Blawharag appeared. They were from a splinter clan of Gorkill wich spoke a completely separate language than the orcs. Thus the orcs created their own language. So, in summary, the Blah is not the orc language but a unification of many different dialects so all orcs can communicate with each other.
